Things have not gone according to plan so far for the Spanish champions in 2012-13, as erratic form has blighted early season ambition. Poor results in the Primera Division see the capital-city side trailing Barcelona by eight points already. The main reason that can be accounted for this is CR7’s ill-content at the club, with the player admitted that he does not feel happy or valued in Madrid.

Despite the ability of Karim Benzema, Mesut Ozil, Angel Di Maria and countless other superstars in the squad, Ronaldo is the man that makes the side tick.

After filling a similar talismanic role for Portugal at Euro 2012, Ronaldo is well and truly in the running for the next Ballon d’Or. Jose Mourinho should be proud of the boys, since this is practically the first time in Cristiano Ronaldo’s era that Barcelona gets eaten alive for almost the whole 90 minutes by Real Madrid.  I’ve never seen Victor Valdes running around like crazy throughout the game,  and couldn’t catch his breath because he had to work extra.

For captain Iker Casillas, he did a fantastic job by making at least 3-4 important saves. However, he barely sweats in the first half.

Of course, praise goes to Gonzalo Higuain who did an amazing opening goal in minute 11th, that helped boosting the team’s spirit.  Followed by Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal, 8 minutes later. And after that, the whole field was like a play ground for Real Madrid, as their counter-attack scheme worked amazingly well. 2-0 in Real Madrid’s lead in just 20 minutes.

However, Messi almost ruined the glory after he scored for Barcelona at the end of first half. Although I have to admit, it was actually a brilliant free-kick goal.

Still, Barcelona find it hard to play with only 10 men after Adriano got a red in just minute 28th for his brutal foul on Ronaldo. They need more than just a help from the referee.

Enough said…. Let’s just skipped to the end of the match, since both Real Madrid and Barcelona didn’t score a goal in the second leg.

After a long 45 minutes plus 3 minutes of extra time, the match ended with 2-1, with Real Madrid’s name as the winner.

It was a good game, and Real Madrid have won it fair and square. Hala Madrid !!

Despite his disappointing performance against Getafe on the last league match, Cristiano Ronaldo managed to escape Jose Mourinho’s critics. After the match, Mourinho made sure that it was all about team work, and not about one man job. Even that the lost is unacceptable, Mou knew that Getafe played better at that time, and that him, the coach and all the players were on the same boat.

From 2 league matches, Real Madrid shockingly only made 1 point, and had to be in 14th place in the league standings rank. Meanwhile, their biggest rival stays strong in the first rank with 6 points, after recorded 2 league victories.

The lost over Supercopa first leg in Camp Nou might have caused Real Madrid’s poor performance. It is understandable, since their confidence was swallowed by Barcelona superiority. What they need to do is to get back on their feet, and forget about their failures.

However, playing at Bernabeu for the second leg of Supercopa, Mourinho wishes to see a good performance from the White team. Obviously, a home game will give them the advantage, and Mou confident that they will play differently from the last clasico. The second leg will be played soon today, and hopefully Real Madrid will make a smart move and still a number of point.

The Supercopa El Clasico first leg match will be held at Camp Nou tonight. As the opening game of season 2012/13, the match will determine which is the best between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The question is, will Real Madrid survive the game, knowing that they didn’t start the league season in a fancy way after a 1-1 draw over Valencia last week ?

As for Barcelona, it’s out of the question. They have succeeded in tasting their first league victory of the season by trashing Real Sociedad with an amazing 5-1 score. Then again, history still take side on Real Madrid. Statistically, from 5 Supercopa match, Real Madrid have won 4 of them. But we all know, it takes more than just a statistic to win a game against Barcelona.

As we all can remember from last Supercopa, the 5-4 score aggregate result for Barca’s victory came from a highly tension match, if we won’t call it violent. Especially the second leg at Camp Nou, where the referee threw a lot of cards, 8 yellows and 2 reds, which showed their brutality on the pitch. Yet the most annoying thing of the game was Jose Mourinho’s unexceptable behaviour over Tito Vilanova, for poking his eye.

But enough with that, and let us put more focus on the main object here, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. These 2 players are no doubt are the biggest reason why El Clasico become more interesting.

Besides Real Madrid vs Barcelona , El Clasico can also be called the clash of Messi and Ronaldo. However, based on the last Spanish league performance, Messi is one step ahead Ronaldo. As we can see on the game, Cristiano Ronaldo performance was just so-so, and far from dangerous. He played below his own standards and failed to create threatening shots.

For the disappointing performance, Cristiano Ronaldo made a statement :

“Physically, we’re not in our best condition. This is normal. We will be better, we’ll try to,”said Ronaldo. “We have tried everything, but we still have to reach the highest level we can.”

And while Ronaldo is still working out to get his performance back, Messi already shown his best by scoring 2 goals in the 5-1 winning over Sociedad, and helped Barcelona to stole 2 points in the standings. Not to mention the pre-season friendly matches, where Messi made similar action by scoring more goals.

This condition is tough even for Ronaldo, which all his action on the pitch will be putting in comparison by the press.  And what makes it even harder, is that the first leg clasico will be held at Camp Nou, a place that is like a playground for Messi and his teammates. The only thing that Real Madrid can do is to give it all out, with 100% of confidence and optimism.

In the end, apart from the heat between the two team, we still expect to see a fairplay and entertaining football match. And may the best team win.

Cristiano Ronaldo arrived at Los Angeles for Real Madrid pre-season training camp yesterday (28 July 2012) along with 25 other Madrid players. The team stayed at Beverly Hills Hotels for third time on the last 3 years,  and trained at UCLA University.

Jose Mourinho will be demanding the players for a rough schedule of training, knowing that they had not been into working regime for weeks due to holiday. As usual, they will have 2 training session, at morning and the evening.

Next Thursday, Real Madrid  will be having a friendly match against LA Galaxy for Herbalife event.

It’s been 3 years since Cristiano Ronaldo joined Real Madrid for the first time. Probably people still remembered when on July 6th 2009, Cristiano Ronaldo taken his first step as a Madridista. Since then, no less than 146 goals have been recorded through either his feet and head. What makes it amazing is that all 146 goals came from 146 matches, that brought 2 titles for Los Blancos.

With €94 million transfer fee, Real Madrid was finally able to bring him to Santiago Bernabeu, with the hope that his presence will conquer Barcelona’s domination.

Unfortunately, it was a bad season for both Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid. While their rival Barcelona kept on climbing to reach the top, by grabbing 6 title from all 6 competition. Real Madrid’s dream team  failed to match Pep Guardiola’s squad.

But it wasn’t Ronaldo’s fault. As a professional player, he has shown an amazing performance. 33 goals in 35 matches is one hell of a record for a newbie in the club. Plus, his injury has prevented him from having a maximum achievement.

The second season, along with Jose Mourinho as a new coach, Ronaldo changed his shirt with his favorite number 7. With the lucky number, he managed to create 53 goals from all 54 matches, won the pichichi title, and grabbed Copa del Rey trophy with his goal over Barcelona in the final round. Not bad, not bad at all….

On the third season, Cristiano Ronaldo was unstoppable. Only Messi could match and even exceed his goal number. With 60 goals from 55 games, it was hard to believe that he just entered the Spain’s club 3 years ago, knowing that Messi already joined Barcelona for far longer time and made his debut in 2004. Based on this experience, I guess we can say that Ronaldo is still one step ahead Messi. Or am I wrong ?

But enough to say, the important thing is that finally in his third year, Cristiano Ronaldo was able to bring Los Blancos to conquer Barcelona from the league’s domination. Unbelievable….

Now, we should wait for his next round in his fourth season with Real Madrid. Will his goal statistic increase ? Will he provide more titles for Real Madrid ? I guess time will tell.
