Real Madrid was on fire at Bernabeu, when they defeated Barcelona in Supercopa second leg last night. In the first half, the Whites literally squashed their rival, with 2 goals against nothing in just 20 minutes.  We can say that Mourinho has brought Real Madrid to another level.

Gonzalo Higuain scored the opening goal at minute 11th, and soon after that, Cristiano Ronaldo doubled the lead for Real Madrid.

Messi’s goal at the end of first half almost destroyed Mourinho’s plan, but luckily 10 men Barcelona weren’t enough to stop raging players who thinks of the field as their playground. The results, Barcelona player lost their tiki-taka style, and tried to use similar counter attack strategy as Real Madrid. But Barcelona is no master of the strategy, and they have failed despite a couple of nice attempts.

In the end, Real Madrid named as the winner of Supercopa after defeating Barcelona with 2-1.

To end the game with style, coach Mourinho played 3 strikers all at once – Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema , and Higuain. The strategy proved to work well, and although Higuain didn’t score a single goal, he did contribute 2 assist in the game.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the opening goal in minute 19th, that also became his last goal on the season. His total goal in La liga is now 46 goals – such amazing record, to achieved in just 3 years with Real Madrid.

After the goal, Benzema doubled the point 4 minutes later, thanks to Gonzalo Higuain and Ronaldo’s assist.

The third goal was created on the second half round, through Mesut Ozil, 4 minutes after the match started. Again, a nice touch up from Higuain helped Ozil in scoring his first on the game.

Not long after, Mallorca’s finally able to steal a goal from Real Madrid through Gonzalo Castro. However, despite already winning the league, Real Madrid kept on being persistent and scored their fourth goal, again, through Mesut Ozil.

With the victory, Los Blancos succeeded in collecting 100 points in La liga, first time in history, with 121 goals. While Mallorca came on 8th in the standings with 52 points.

Like on last September, when Rayo Vallecano shocked Bernabeu with their first goal in the first minute. It was a terrible way to start the game. But the bad opening somehow turned out to ended well for Los Blancos, after they wrote the scoreboard with a 6-2 victory.

Amazing ? You bet.

This season, Real Madrid have recorded 9 comeback victories after they lost 0-1 from the opponent. Compare to Barcelona, who only had 6 times comeback victories , and that was 3 seasons ago.

Besides the Vallecano match, Madrid’s true champion spirit also shown another threatening match against Atletico Madrid. At minute 15th, Atletico Madrid scored the opening goal , but Real Madrid were the one who had the last laugh, when they reached a sweet 4-1 victory.

Apart from Pepe’s 1 match suspension left, Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, Coentrao and Xabi Alonso are in a high risk of getting one match ban due  to card accumulation. All four of them can’t afford to get a single yellow card since they only need one more to get suspended. Ronaldo and Coentrao each collect 4 yellow in La liga, while both Ramos and Alonso already collect 9 yellow. To play them against Osasuna is a very risky thing since if anything happens to them, they could miss the next league match against Valencia.

Valencia is consider the toughest opponent besides Barcelona. Unfortunately, nothing can be done since after Valencia match, they also have another difficult match against Atletico Madrid at Vicente Calderon Stadium. So for Mourinho, his next task will be harder since he have to make smart decision on the players that need to be rested and played next Saturday.

He actually already find a new dream team for his starter team squad, including to placed Gonzalo Higuain up front for striker, and Mesut Ozil in the middle. But things could be hard for Cristiano, since his position is replaced by Ozil. He loves to play freely in the middle, and wait for the right moment to go through the penalty box and started scoring. Back then at ManUtd, he used to play on the right, and moved steadily to the centre to score.

Last season, Cristiano played upfront with Higuain, or behind him, but he get to moved where he pleased. And now, with Ozil on the team, Cris couldn’t have his perfect place to score, since Mou placed him as a right winger, and plays out wide to allow Higuain, Ozil and di Maria to get to scoring position.  Cristiano new position makes him harder to score, and that’s when he started to frustrate. His not the centre of Real Madrid anymore, but on the other side, he expected to score.

It’s a huge pressure for Cristiano, who loves to score the most. That’s why he tried to shot a few times even when he wasn’t on the right position, and failed. That made him looks awful and the media accused him of being selfish. The problem is, he is made to score since the very beginning, and putting him on the wrong place, and doesn’t give him to explore real value is just a sin. Cris need to score to gain back his confident, that way he can play better and better.

But with Mou new plans and tactics, we can’t expect the best from Cris for the rest of the season, unless Mou realize what he did wrong and put him back on the right track, and let him do his job. We do want the arrogant and selfish Cristiano Ronaldo back again on pitch.

Probably everyone is aware of the curse that has touched every defending European Champion in these recent years: They always fail to reach the last 8. The 2006 Champions League winners Barcelona suffered the exit in the hands of Liverpool in 2007, while 2007 winners AC Milan bowed out against Wenger’s youthful Arsenal – all at this same stage of the competition.

It looks like Mourinho’s Inter Milan – who are yet to leave up to expectations in Europe – are up to cause the same misery to United.
However, the hungry Red Devils are aiming to break down this curse and retain their title which is their priority this year.

One man who is well aware of the challenge presented by Inter Milan is Manchester United’s Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo:

“From now on, all games are important. It’s time to kill or be killed. Whoever loses will exit the competition and we don’t want to lose, we don’t want to get stuck along the way. It will be a difficult game, but I think that Manchester United have a better team, and we’ll do our best to win it,” Ronaldo told UEFA’s official website yesterday.

Less than 24 hours before this titanic clash, mind games have reached their peak.

“I think Nemanja Vidic should be suspended for both legs, not just this week’s game,” Mourinho told the Daily Telegraph.

“We will certainly try to make things uncomfortable for the United defense without him at the San Siro.

“We have almost the whole squad fit and, with the support of our fans and the experience of our players, we can make this very, very tough for United.”

But while Mourinho taunts Manchester United’s defense who will be without the likes of the suspended Vidic, Ronaldo refuses to think that Inter are better than the Reds, although he has a lot of respect for the Italians:

“They’re a good side and first in Serie A so we need to be very careful. They’re a team with very experienced players, but we also have our aces and great players. We have a more experienced team, we’re the reigning champions. It will be a good game, a well-contested game, and the better team will win.”

It could be hard to predict who the better team will be, especially when history is somewhat balanced. Despite the fact that Man United defeated Inter and went on to win the title back in 1999, the last result between these two teams went in favor of Inter who recorded a 3-2 win at Old Trafford in a friendly in 2007.

But Ronaldo would prefer not to think about the past and focus on what is going to happen tonight on the field. San Siro is not the best of venues for the Reds. A humiliating 3-0 defeat in the hands of AC Milan the last time they traveled there tells it all.

Since Cristiano Ronaldo was confirmed as this yearâ€s Ballon dâ€Or winner, praises havenâ€t stopped flowing from illustrious football personalities. However, some of them have also expressed disenchantment towards the Cristiano Ronaldo’s crowning.
Letâ€s check out who said what…

First, the compliments of his Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson:

”We are very proud. Manchester United had been waiting for this for 40 years. Cristiano is in the tradition of our three other Ballons d’Or. His award is beyond all possible dispute,” he told France Football.

”He is only 23 years old. His best years are ahead of him. In life, you have two categories of people. Those who reach their goal and go to bed saying to themselves ‘I made it’ and the other ones, who are driven by will, desire.

”These ones, when they win the trophy, they say to themselves ‘I go on’… Ronaldo has that sparkle in himself.”

The 2006 World Cup and Golden Ball winner Fabio Cannavaro also congratulated Cristiano Ronaldo. His message was a bit less warm than Fergieâ€s, but all the same, it revealed quite a lot of sincerity:

“He fully deserves the Ballon d’Or but he was off the boil at the Euros,” Cannavaro told La Stampa.

“However, that didn’t matter too much because of what he did before. A Premier League, a Champions League and 42 goals, he didn’t have to do anything else.

“I voted for Cristiano Ronaldo, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and Iker Casillas. The best player of the year and the other two are good friends of mine.”

Ronaldoâ€s Manchester United team-mate and personal friend, Patrice Evra, was clearly ecstatic. “Hello Golden Boy!”, the French man greeted the newly crowned World Player of the Year on Tuesday morning.
Speaking to France Football Magazine, Evra hailed the prolific goal scorer with warm words expressing his enthusiastic mood, stating once again that thereâ€s no argument to who is the Worldâ€s best and that he would have retired from football if Ronaldo did not win the Ballon dâ€Or.

Former Portugal captain Luis Figo also sent a message from Italy to his beloved lad Cristiano Ronaldo, declaring his emotions. The Nerazzuri midfielder, who became the second Portuguese player after the legendary Eusebio to lift this trophy in 2000, was extremely proud of the 23 year old Superstar winger and described him as a deserved winner.

On the contrary, his countryman Jose Mourinho was on the other side of opinions when asked if Ronaldo was a worthy winner:

“No, I would have preferred one of my own foreign players to have won the Ballon dâ€Or.”

Italyâ€s Marcelo Lippi also parts with this kind of comments.

“Ronaldo won the Ballon d’Or because European journalists voted for him,” Lippi told Sky Sport Italia.

“I thought that either Lionel Messi or Ronaldo would have won.

“If it was me then I would have given the award to all my Italian squad players as they are my golden ball winners.

“Everytime I make my squad selection, every player which I pick is a Ballon d’Or winner.”

And what did the runner up, Lionel Messi, think about the whole thing?

“I was not ever worried about the Ballon d’Or, much less now.

“Fortunately things are going well for me, but I always say that the most important thing is to keep doing well for the team and to win many titles.

“I am only 21 years old and I have left many things to do in football.”

“Any player would like to win the Ballon dâ€Or, but neither am I obsessed with it,” he told the club’s official website. “I would rather win trophies for Barça or for Argentina.

“I expected to finish second. Ronaldo deserved to win it after everything he achieved and because he had a great year where he won two important trophies.

“All I can do is, carry on working and trying to do things well.”

As for the crowned Golden Boy himself, this is what he had to say:

“This is one that I want to win again because it is so good,” Ronaldo said after clinching the award. “Therefore, I will wake and I will say to myself ‘I want to be even better’.”
