Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated one of the most defining moments in his career with his loved ones by his side as he was crowned the FIFA World Player of the Year.

Ronaldo broke in Tears as he was crowned the Golden Ball. Cristiano’s mother and Girlfriend Irina also couldn’t stop their tears. The moment was very emotional, He made everyone cry and also to millions of fans who were watching him on their TV sets.

The Portuguese football star beat Messi and Ribery to win the Ballon D’OR  for the second time in his career.

On Monday night the world’s eyes were on the football gala at Zurich as Cristiano Ronaldo, Franck Ribery and Lionel Messi fought for the Ballon d’Or.

The honour was won by Ronaldo for his awesome performance with the ball both for his team Portugal as well as his club Real Madrid.

The football star walked on up on stage with his little boy Cristiano Jr to collect the coveted Ballon d’Or, and couldn’t hold back the tears as he was presented with the award.

After hugging his three-year-old son, who was then held aloft by Brazilian footballing legend Pele, Cristiano made a short address.

“There are no words to describe this moment,” said the sportstar, 28, who beat Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery of Bayern Munich to win the award.

“I want to thank all my colleagues and companions at Real Madrid, in the Portuguese team and my family who are here with me.

“I am very happy, it is very difficult to win this award. Everybody that has been involved with me on a personal level I have to thank. My partner, my friends, my son. It is a tremendously emotional moment.”

Proudly watching from her seat was Cristiano’s proud girlfriend, Russian model Irina Shayk. The glamorous brunette was seen with tears in her eyes as her boyfriend of four years received the trophy.

Equally emotional was the footballer’s mother Maria, who was joined at the glitzy ceremony in Zurich by his sisters Elma and Liliana.
