Ronaldo to prove himself against Portuguese Champions FC Porto

Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t at his best last night when Manchester United hosted Porto at Old Trafford in the Champions League. The Portuguese winger’s mistake in the early minutes of the game didn’t go unpunished by the Portuguese Champions.

Ronaldo’s cheap pass of the ball led to O’Shea being frustrated at the back. It was down to Rodriguez to try out his luck, and he didn’t miss his chance.

Somehow, United came back into the game with Rooney capitalizing from Porto’s defensive mistake in the first half, and Tevez finishing up Rooney’s superb back heel pass in the penalty area on 85 minutes. But Mariano’s shocking equalizer three minutes later set the score line to 2-2 at the end of game.

Ronaldo is usually phenomenal against Portuguese clubs, powering Manchester United to victory against Sporting Lisbon and Benfica in every meeting.

Ronaldo will have something to prove when the Red Devils visit Porto away. The Portugal Captain was only a substitute five years ago when Porto controversially knocked out Manchester United from the Champions League.

He will surely need to rise up above the Dragons before his side suffers an exit from Europe.
