According to reliable spanish radio station Onda Cero, Real Madrid have agreed in “principle†with Manchester United for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to go ahead for a fee in the region of 90 million euros.
If true, it will be the highest transfer fee paid in history to acquire the service of a footballer by a club. It is believed Manchester were holding out for 100 million euros but Real are quietly confident a deal will be conducted in the next few days.
United have fought vigorously to keep a hold of Ronaldo but seem to be coming to terms with having to let him go. Ronaldo meanwhile is to have surgery in the next few days on that injured ankle but will most likely miss the opening game of the premiership season in mid August . If he does sign for Real, it will not be the only game he misses in Manchester’s Premiership campaign.
