Real Madrid vs Sevilla: Cristiano Ronaldo To Help Madrid Take Revenge
After inspiring Portugal to a 2-0 victory in a midweek friendly match against China, Cristiano Ronaldo will return for Real Madrid as La Liga resumes in Spain.
Los Blancos will welcome Sevilla in the match of the weekend.
Ronaldo missed the first leg of this fixture through injury back in October 2009. The match ended 2-1 in favor of Sevilla and it marked Real Madrid’s first defeat in La Liga.
It left the public and the media speculating about the Spanish giants’ weaknesses and Cristiano Ronaldo’s influence.
Now with the Portuguese winger fully fit and in the line-up for Real Madrid, can Los Blancos take revenge on Sevilla and thus grab three vital points?
Actually, Real Madrid defend an amazing record of 12 home wins from their 12 home La Liga matches this season.
They’ve also scored as much as 14 goals in their last 3 fixtures and Cristiano Ronaldo believes that La Liga title is now in Real Madrid’s hands despite the fact that they still trail two points behind Barcelona ahead of match-day 25.
“We will win La Liga. Comparing the last few games in La Liga, I think that we are playing better than Barcelona,” Ronaldo declared after Real Madrid’s 5-1 win over Tenerife last weekend.
“At the moment, we need to think about ourselves. We need to continue doing things well.
“We are confident of our chances of winning La Liga title.”
And if this is the case, then Real Madrid will have to beat Sevilla so as to keep pressurizing La Liga leaders Barcelona who will be up against Almeria earlier on.
