Racing Santander 0-2 Real Madrid: Cristiano Ronaldo Scores A Penalty Goal

Real Madrid didn’t perform at their best standard when they faced Racing Santander away in Match-day 29 in La Liga. However, Cristiano Ronaldo’s presence was vital for them to bag all three points thanks to a 2-0 victory.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the score sheet midway through the first with a confidently-taken penalty kick.

The goalkeeper went the right way but Ronaldo’s kick was just too hard for it to be punched away.

So Real Madrid went into the lead, much at the disappointment of the home side which had started off brilliantly.

The fact is that Racing Santander’s Moraton couldn’t contain Cristiano Ronaldo in the penalty box; and after he had brought him down with a harsh tackle it was obvious that referee would point out to the spot.

Cristiano Ronaldo kept being the victim of more fouls, and play had to stop several times with free-kicks going in favor of Real Madrid.
There wasn’t much throughout the match though, as Los Blancos had El Clasico in the back of their minds.

They didn’t spend too much efforts but Gonzalo Higuain’s 76th minute goal ensured victory for the hosts.

The night ended 2-0 in favor for Real Madrid who thus went back on top of La Liga standings.
