Preview: Sevilla v Real Madrid – La Liga, Sunday 4, October

Real Madrid face a tough trip to Andalusia later on. La Liga leaders will face third-place Sevilla in the clash of the weekend. For Cristiano Ronaldo fans, the main curiosity is around the fitness of their favorite player.

Cristiano Ronaldo indeed sustained an injury in midweek against Marseille and had to come off with more than 20 minutes remaining. The 24-year-old player was considered a doubt for Sunday’s clash but as the approaches, there is a chance that Ronaldo will be fit in time.

Cristiano Ronaldo spoke about his injury to the media and the prospect of featuring against Sevilla for Real Madrid’s crucial match.

He declared:

“I have a few days to recover and hopefully will be fine for Sunday. I think I will get to Seville.”

Cristiano Ronaldo, who is having double training session as he races against time for fitness, will be the main attraction on Sunday if he plays against Sevilla.

Sevilla’s Jesus Navas is already relishing the prospect of facing the world’s most expensive player. He stated:

“Cristiano Ronaldo is a very important player for them, as they all are. It would be good if he is there for the game because it will be a good match.”

Diego Capel also shared Jesus Navas views, but added that the focus would especially be on beating Real Madrid to upset La Liga.

“He [Cristiano Ronaldo] is obviously a very important player for them. If he doesn’t play, it will be a big loss. But we must concentrate on our own team.

“If he doesn’t that’s better [for us], but if he does then it’s better for the spectacle.

“We know that it will be a difficult game but we will go out and give 100 per cent. We are playing at home and we want to get the three points.”
