Portugal Prime Minister Met The Squad (3/6/2010)

Portugal prime minister, Jose Socrates was with the National team this Thursday(3/6/2010). Early on the evening, the prime minister met with the players and coaching staff in hotelereira Oeiras.

His visit was to support before their departure to South Africa to compete for World Cup. “I am confident that they will do their best to defend the country. We can reach any place, because we have the best players in the world,”said the minister.

Their last friendly match with Cameroon left the minister more confident for the team. ” They showed that they are able to play any game.” He continued,”I always had a great trust in the squad, in good times and bad. This team has had hard times and few believed they would qualify. However, here they are.”

In the message that was left to the Portuguese delegation, Jose Socrates has “words of encouragement and good luck.”
