Portugal Captain Cristiano Ronaldo Reveals His Sweet South Africa Dream
You might wonder if the subject of Cristiano Ronaldo’s revelation is around his private life characterized by money, fame, and a host of ladies.
The truth is that Ronaldo’s sweet dream has to do with football matters and with the World Cup especially.
Ahead of the draw for the group stages of South Africa 2010 which will take place on Friday at 17:00 GMT, Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his desire to meet Spain in the final of the World Cup next summer.
The Portugal captain declared to AS:
“Our goal was to qualify for South Africa [2010] and we succeeded. I don’t want to face Spain too early [in the World Cup tournament].”
He added:
“It would be best to do so in the final. That would be a dream.”
However, Cristiano Ronaldo also admitted that it won’t be easy to reach the sky. He avowed:
“It is going to be a difficult tournament. We’ll be prepared anyway, and then the rest will be up to what God wants.”
With the performances and results that Portugal created since 2008, the majority of the public find it hard to imagine the 2006 World Cup semi-finalists go all the way to glory in South Africa.
What about you? Is there any realistic chance for Portugal to lift the FIFA World Cup trophy in South Africa?
