One more goal and it is a record…

Cristiano Ronaldo will feature tonight for Real Madrid as Los Blancos clash against La Liga’s Yellow Submarines Villarreal. The Portuguese winger has scored in each of Real Madrid’s La Liga matches so far.

Now he is keen to enter into the club’s record books by scoring again tonight. This will make it four in a row in the first four games for the reigning world footballer of the year.

A goal at the El Madrigal on match-day 4 will put Cristiano Ronaldo in the same ranks as his Pichichi honor rival, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Swedish was on the scoring sheet again on Tuesday as Barcelona sank Racing Santander by four goals to nil.

And the competition for the top scorer award doesn’t end just here. Cristiano Ronaldo’s hottest rival, Lionel Messi, also scored a brace last night which took his tally to five goals in La Liga. The Argentine now surpasses Ronaldo in the top scorers chart.

Ronaldo, who never scored against Villarreal during his time with Manchester United, will enter tonight’s encounter with a lot of wishes to be fulfilled: to be in Real Madrid’s record books, to keep challenging for the Pichichi honor, and ultimately to help Los Blancos pick up all three points to possibly reclaim the top spot.
