Following Real Madrid’s embarrassing exit from the UEFA Champions League, Cristiano Ronaldo’s cousin Amílcar Miguel Dos Santos Fernandes died on Wednesday, March 11 only to add more tragedy in Cristiano Ronaldo’s surroundings recently.

32-year-old Amílcar Miguel Dos Santos Fernandes reportedly died in a car accident. When informed on this breaking news, Cristiano Ronaldo canceled his meeting for the presentation of an isotonic drink advert.

He subsequently traveled straight away to his homeland Madeira and joined the rest of his family. Speaking over the tragic death of his cousin, Cristiano Ronaldo stated:

“This is one of the saddest moments of my life. I will never forget it.”

However, despite being asked by his beloved mother to remain in Madeira much longer for the funeral of Amílcar Miguel Dos Santos Fernandes , Cristiano Ronaldo decided to fly back to Spain so as to attend Real Madrid’s training session today.

Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to feature for Real Madrid against Valladolid as La Liga resumes this weekend. Will we see a performance from the star winger in honor of the late Amílcar Miguel Dos Santos Fernandes ?
