Cristiano Ronaldo has strongly dismissed rumors that he was hinting at Jose Mourinho’s possible arrival at Real Madrid by backing current manager Manuel Pellegrini. CR9 appealed for people to respect the Chilean boss and wished him more years at Real Madrid.
Categorically denying suggestions made by the media over his appreciation for Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho, Cristiano Ronaldo revealed:
“Honestly speaking, I like people with a winning mentality. Don’t think I’m referring to Mourinho or another coach by that. I’m very happy with Pellegrini. He is doing very well and he is helping us a lot.”
The calm attitude of Manuel Pellegrini seems to have gain the players’ respect. Real Madrid’s dressing room stories perhaps don’t exist anymore. Even the Higuain-Ronaldo raw rumor was quickly put to bed. Being in transition phase, the Spanish club certainly need to find stability in terms of leadership. Like some, Cristiano Ronaldo thinks that keeping Manuel Pellegrini at Real Madrid is the right thing. He told the press:
“For me, he [Manuel Pellegrini] is the most important coach. I’m not the kind of guy who talks about other coaches. Pellegrini must be respected. Hopefully, he’ll stay at Real Madrid one, two, or three more years.”
