Real Madrid top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo will be fit for his side’s Champions League semi-final second leg clash against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.
The forward was absent for Madrid’s victory over local rivals Atletico Madrid on Saturday with a muscular problem that he sustained in their 4-1 humiliation by Dortmund last Wednesday.
Ronaldo has returned to full training ahead of their crunch tie against the Germans for a place at Wembley. The sensational forward scored the only goal for his side in the 4-1 defeat.
He trained with his team-mates for the first time on Monday and appeared to have shaken off any injury.
”Cristiano is fine to play tomorrow,” Mourinho said at a news conference previewing Tuesday’s game.
Ronaldo has been exceptional for Madrid this season, scoring 51 goals in all competition so far this season and is currently the Champions League top scorer with an amazing 12 goals, having scored in his last six consecutive games in the competition.
Real Madrid will go into Tuesday’s tie on a high with star player Ronaldo fit to face the German opposition. However, Madrid will know that only La Liga rivals Deportivo La Coruna have ever progressed to the next round of a Champions League knockout match following a 4-1 defeat in the first leg.
But with £80m Ronaldo fit and ready, anything is possible for Los Blancos.
