Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII ACC CR – Love To Win, Hate To Lose

With everything that has come before in the Nike CR line, you never know quite what you’re going to get next. For Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2012 signature shoe – his fourth exclusive design – Nike tone down the craziness to bring us what is undeniably one of the best looking football boots of the year.

The aim for Nike is to package Cristiano Ronaldo’s on and off pitch style onto the canvas of a Mercurial Vapor. This year, the new Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII ACC CR football boots – Vapor VIII CR for short – has been designed in a noticeably different fashion…and we love it! As always, we’ve got exclusive photography of the hottest boot on the planet.

The days of safari print and pinstripes seem to be over. This time Nike have stripped it back, with the only added quirk being a rather stylish pink and blue graphic. This is a real change in direction for the Nike CR line. No gimmicks, just a great looking boot.

The redesign has brought a new swoosh size and placement. Nike have lost the toe box swoosh featured on the standard Vapor VIII and replaced it with two oversized Nike ticks on the outside and instep. Ronaldo’s new logo – symbolic of love and hate – sits on the heel and will be used across the full Nike CR collection unveiled later this week.

Under the hood, this is the same boot as the Mercurial Vapor VIII ACC. In similar fashion to the Vapor VIII Clash edition, the boots upper is crafted from a soft, supple teijin synthetic, giving it increased leather-like properties. Nike’s ACC technology is used to bring the boot in line with each of Nike’s major silos.
The new Nike Mercurial Vapor VIII ACC CR football boots will be available to pre-order from today, retailing worldwide for £160 GBP / $230 USD / €185 EURO.[fbphotos id=440329572691820]
