Cristiano Ronaldo: Manchester United, Beware Of AC Milan In The Champions League

[/caption]Memories of Cristiano Ronaldo vs AC Milan are not the best and fans will prefer to forget about his last two games against this Italian team.

Then a Manchester United player, Cristiano Ronaldo and the rest of the Red Devils suffered a 5-3 aggregate defeat against AC Milan in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. That was back in the 2006/07 European season.

Now, Cristiano Ronaldo has given a warning to his former club. The Portuguese superstar tipped Manchester United as a better team than AC Milan but he quickly underlined the Italian’s strength on the field of play.

Speaking to Italian magazine La Gazzetta dello Sport, Cristiano Ronaldo explained:

“On paper, Manchester United have something more than AC Milan. But on the pitch, Milan are very difficult to play against.”

Three seasons ago, when Manchester United and AC Milan clashed against each other in the semi-finals of the Champions League, Ricardo Kaka emerged as the hero of the Cristiano Ronaldo vs Kaka duel.

The Brazilian, who was then a Rossoneri, scored twice at Old Trafford and also broke the dead lock at the San Siro in the return leg as AC Milan cruised 5-3 on aggregate against Manchester United.

Ricardo Kaka is now Cristiano Ronaldo’s team mate at Real Madrid and he hasn’t been pleasing Madrid fans too much.

There were speculations in the past few weeks that the midfielder would be on his way out to Juventus in the summer but Kaka was keen to put these stories behind him with a fine performance and a goal against Espanyol last weekend.

The Brazilian is reportedly dealing with a hernia injury for life which saw him struggle during the months of November and January.
Some don’t believe in Kaka’s potential at Real Madrid, but Cristiano Ronaldo thinks otherwise.

He defended his team mate by saying:

“Now that he has overcome his physical troubles and that he feels better, we are starting to see his major qualities.”

Now a Blanco, Kaka will obviously not be able to help the Rossoneri win the Champions League like three seasons ago nor will Cristiano Ronaldo be able to power the Red Devils to European glory.

Manchester United’s match against AC Milan will come up on February 16th. On that same night, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, and the entire Real Madrid squad will be in France to play against Olympique Lyonnais.

Manchester United and Real Madrid will meet in the quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League if they both win their respective last sixteen fixtures.
