Cristiano Ronaldo: I said NO to Real Madrid; Heart, mind, soul, and blood for Manchester United!

Things were boiling over last weekend concerning the future of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Reports suggested that Ronaldo would effectively join Real Madrid – with Manchester United’s game against Barcelona being his last as a Red Devil.

But the Golden Ball and Fifa World Player of the Year winner has retorted at these speculations with some clear messages.

Ronaldo: My home is Manchester United, my heart is in the team

The Manchester United number 7 ace has definitely made the Mancunian club his priority, and insists that all his focus is on achieving more with the club.

“This is my home now. I think even when I say my heart is here, people are still going to speak and make things up. But this is where I want to play,” Ronaldo said in The News of the World.

“We are part of an era that can go down in history for the way we are playing and for the trophies we are winning. The boss believes in this team and so do I. And this is where I want to be. Manchester United is now my house.”

Ronaldo happy to meet Lionel Messi in the Champions League final

There are only two days to go in the final countdown before Barcelona and Manchester United clash against each other in the Champions League in Rome.

The battle will feature Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo on one side and Lionel Messi on the other, and the World Player of the Year is extremely excited about the event. Despite the media portraying both players as real foes, Cristiano Ronaldo came up to reveal his admiration for the Argentine Superstar:

“It is not good to go on to the pitch in awe of somebody but I very much respect Lionel Messi as a player,” Ronaldo is quoted as saying in the News of the World.

“He has a great style of play and I am sure he will be as excited about the final as I am.”

Meanwhile, Barcelona’s Yaya Toure had some compliments to make to Ronaldo concerning the Messi duel.

“For now, Ronaldo is No 1,”

“He has so much power – just look at the goal he scored against Arsenal from 50m.

“And he is quick with the ball at his feet and strong in the air.”

“If Messi helps us to win the Champions League, then he deserves to be known as the best player in the world.”

Everybody thinks that the player in the winning side will scoop many if not all the major individual trophies this year. The Portuguese winger could silence critics and close all the debates if he shines and help Manchester United lift the European title.

Ronaldo is in confident mood ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League final and believes that the Red Devils can beat the Catalans and make history.

“They have an excellent player in every position on the pitch but so do we. We know how well we have to play to beat them and we know how much respect we need to show them by playing to the top of ability.

“But we are full of confidence at the moment and believe we can be the first team to win it back to back.”
