The host actually had the opportunity to lead the match in early minutes, unfortunately Madrid’s goal keeper Diego Lopez managed to blocked Aspas’s shot. And for the next 10 minutes, Celta hadn’t stopped their attacks, which forced Lopez to work extra hard.

At minute 18th, Real Madrid finally had the chance to break the defense, but still failed. And throughout the first half, both team showed an equal defense, but until the first round ended, still no goal from both sides.

Early on the second half, the situation had not changed, with a couple of failed attempts from Cristiano Ronaldo. But his effort finally paid off. The Portuguese striker scored the first goal in minute 61st, with a striking close range shot. However, it didn’t take too long for Madrid to celebrate the goal, since Aspas managed to equalize the point 2 minutes later.

The clock is ticking. Mourinho had to change the strategy,  pulled Callejon and Benzema to make room for Kaka and Higuain. Apparently it was the right move, since at minute 72nd the ref rewarded Madrid with a penalty shot after Varaz made a foul on Kaka. Cristiano Ronaldo as the executor suceeded doing his job,  2-1 for Madrid.

Until the match ended, the score remains the same, 1-2 for Real Madrid’s victory. Once again, Cristiano Ronaldo saved the day, and scored both goal for the team.

Karim Benzema scored 2 goals on the match, while Ramos, Higuain, and Cristiano Ronaldo each scored 1 goal.

Although Madrid recorded a big win over Granada, it didn’t mean they made it easy. Infact, Mourinho squad had difficulties to break the opponents defense in the first half.

It was Benzema who open the score for Real Madrid at minute 19th, but 3 minutes later, Granada managed to equalize the point through Mikel Rico’s header.  Luckily, Sergio Ramos saved Real Madrid and doubled the score. 2-1 for Real Madrid until the break.

When Ronaldo scored from a free-kick against Manchester City, he was on top of the goal scoring chart with 18 goals, 1 above Nicolas Anelkaâ€s tally.
Ronaldo failed to score against Arsenal in his last Premiership game of the season, while he didnâ€t featured at all against Hull City in Manchester Unitedâ€s final fixture of the year.

On the other side, Cristiano Ronaldoâ€s nearest challenger Nicolas Anelka took his chances. The French man scored a goal in each of Chelseaâ€s last three games to finally win the Golden Boot award with 19 goals to his credits.

Ronaldo officially finished the season with 18 goals but in reality, the World Player of the Year should have be crowned with the Golden Boot award for the second consecutive time.
Ronaldo scored two clear goals against Chelsea in the middle of the season – which should have counted; instead, the referee disallowed them. Some weeks earlier, Ronaldo fired in an incredible shot against Tottenham – in game that ended goalless; once again, the referee removed the goal for a handball offense but replays clearly proved that Ronaldo had not touched the ball with any of his arms.

So three goals disallowed there for Ronaldo in the English Premier League; the Portuguese Star wingerâ€s tally this season should have been 21 goals instead of 18 goals – which beats Nicolas Anelkaâ€s record of 19 goals.

If Ronaldo indeed remains in the Premiership next season, he might fight for the prize again.

The contest is over! Manchester United have won the English Premiership title for the third time in a row and the 18th time in the clubâ€s history to equal Liverpoolâ€s record.

A point was all what the Red Devils needed to lift the trophy for the first time since 1999 in front of their own fans. Manchester United drew goalless against fourth-placed Arsenal to clinch the English Premiership title and celebrate on a bright and sunny afternoon at Old Trafford.

This is Cristiano Ronaldoâ€s third consecutive English Premiership Champions medal in his career, and the 24-year-old is extremely happy of his clubâ€s achievement. Speaking to MUTV, Ronaldo declared after the game:

“It’s unbelievable, it’s a special day,”

“We’ve won the league again and now we get to celebrate with our families. I’m enjoying it a lot. It’s a fantastic achievement. It’s not easy to win three times, the lads worked for that and it’s a special, special moment. We have to enjoy the moment.”

The Star winger is also Manchester Unitedâ€s leading scorer for the third year running and has scored 18 goals in the Premiership like Chelseaâ€s Nicolas Anelka.
The Portuguese winger – who could retain his Golden Boot Award – is relishing Manchester Unitedâ€s triumph, and has made it clear that his mind was set on achieving more with the team.

“We don’t need to care about other teams,” he said. “It’s always good to be on the top, and we are in a good moment. We’ve won a few things and this club needs to carry on. It doesn’t matter which players are here or which coach is here, the mentality of this club is always to win. I’m looking forward, and proud to be in the history of this team.”

Manchester United have made the double in England – winning the Carling Cup and the Premiership, besides their triumph in the FIFA World Club Cup in Japan earlier in the season. The Red Devils have three titles in their room of trophies and they could make it four when they take on the newly crowned Spanish La Liga Champions Barcelona.

Reflecting on the possibility of Manchester United defending their European title in Rome, Ronaldo concluded:

“If we win that then it’s an unbelievable year.”

In the meantime, despite passing his Sir Matt Busby and Players’ Player of the Year awards to team mate Nemanja Vidic, Cristiano Ronaldo still won Manchester United’s goal of the season award for his 40-yard thunderbolt against FC Porto.

His dream of reaching 30 goals this season is still alive. The Portuguese winger failed to score against Arsenal on Saturday, but he still has two opportunities – against Hull City and Barcelona – to achieve his dream. How great it would be to see him scoring a brace twice with Manchester United ending their campaign in style!

The World Player of the Year did it again! After scoring twice in midweek to fire Manchester United into the Champions League final, Cristiano Ronaldo put his name on the scoring sheet once again in Sundayâ€s Mancunian derby.

Manchester United went into the game behind Liverpool on goal difference so a victory on home soil was very much needed for the Red Devils to reaffirm their authority at the top of the league and ultimately pave their way through to possibly clinch the English Premier League title for the third year running.

Cristiano Ronaldo had suffered a disturbing game at the City of Manchester Stadium in the first leg of this fixture, but it was a different thing all together this time around.

Manchester United were awarded a free-kick eighteen minutes into the game and Ronaldo took this opportunity to prove his worth once again.

The reigning European top scorer earlier last week revealed his desire to increase his tally to 30 goals this season with few games to go before Manchester Unitedâ€s campaign comes to an end.

Well, he looks to be on the right track to achieving his dream. Ronaldo fired the ball into the net from 25 yards to give Manchester United the lead from this free-kick. It was the Portugueseâ€s 26th goal of the season.

Carlos Tevez then sealed Manchester Unitedâ€s victory with a strike at the stroke of half-time to send the Red Devils ramping at the top of the league table.

With the Champions League final and the remainder of the EPL season matches in Fergieâ€s mind, the Old Scot decided to substitute Ronaldo for Rooney thirty minutes from time.

There was a nasty little incident though when the 24-year-old revealed his anger at being substituted. (View the video below to see how Ronaldo reacted when being substituted)

All the same, Ronaldoâ€s opener against Manchester City was another master-piece from the master of free-kicks, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United continued the defense of their EPL title at home to Harry Redknappâ€s Spurs on Saturday evening in a must-win game, after Liverpool had surpassed them at the top of the league with a hard-fought 3-1 win against Blacburn Rovers earlier in the day.

The hosts were shocked in the first half by an impressive Tottenham side that managed to pierce Manchester Unitedâ€s defense through Darrent Bentâ€s opener and Modricâ€s outstanding strike.

The London club perhaps thought that business was almost done, but Tevez’s inclusion and a controversial penalty decision in the second half proved to have turned things around.

Manchester United were awarded a dubious penalty after Michael Carrick went down in the process as keeper Gomes cleared the ball away. It was Cristiano Ronaldoâ€s task to convert the spot kick for United to get back into the game. The World Player of the Year – who missed some important penalties last season in the Champions League – held his nerves and brilliantly, banged the ball at the back of the net to give some hope to the home side.

Wayne Rooney equalized before Cristiano Ronaldo fired Manchester United into the lead with a diving header from close range. Quite a cool way to mark his new short haircut… The Portugueseâ€s celebrations – in which he removed his jersey – typically explained how relieved he was to have brushed his anxiety away by scoring this goal.

From there, Tottenham Hotspurs were completely devastated. The Red Devils were always threatening whenever they approached Spurs†18-yard box. Cristiano Ronaldo again then found Rooney in the penalty area with a fine cross. The number 10 striker got his shot right as the ball went just a little over the line.

Berbatov then added a scrappy fifth goal to emphasize Manchester Unitedâ€s stunning comeback.
Cristiano Ronaldo had two late chances to clinch a hat trick but his low shots went wide. That would have been some icing on the cake…

Manchester United host Arsenal on Wednesday in the Champions League and the Reds are determined to go for it.

Aston Villa had the better of the game in the first quarter of an hour but it was the home side who took the lead through the World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Red Devils were given a free-kick in the penalty area after 13 minutes. Nani, Giggs and Ronaldo were all over the ball and the last word went to the 24-year-old Portuguese playmaker. Cristiano Ronaldoâ€s shot from the free-kick was too hard for Villaâ€s goal keeper to catch.

Ronaldoâ€s goal seemed to have eased the pressure on the unsteady Red Devils; however, the relief of being ahead didnâ€t last long. John Carew equalized for Aston Villa midway during the first period. Unitedâ€s misery could only worsen when Agbonlahor beat the offside trap and head the ball home after 65 minutes, meaning that Van der Sar had conceded eight goals in four games; the home side were stunned!

Time was running out and the fear of losing the top spot to Liverpool at the end of the day was growing fast. Could the Theatre of Dreams turn into a World of Nightmares?

Less than fifteen minutes of the normal nineteen remained on the clock and the 1-2 score line was already pushing some Manchester United fans to leave the stadium. But the decisive moment was just moments away from happening…

Manchester United were desperate to turn things around and with their unconvincing performance on the day, it even seemed like their shocking miserable form was going to continue. But there came the World Player of Year and Portugal Captain Cristiano Ronaldo to make it 2-2 – which explained that Ronaldo had scored all of Manchester Unitedâ€s four goals since Vidicâ€s opener against Inter Milan in Europe.

His left-footed low shot that drove the ball in the bottom corner of the net suddenly transformed the atmosphere at Old Trafford. The EPL defending champions had find a way back out of nowhere.

Manchester United kept searching for the winner which they finally got in injury time through 17-year-old Italian Macheda. The former Lazio kid had stolen all three points for United on his debut as a substitute.

Each of Manchester Unitedâ€s goals proved to be very much important in this hard-fought game; Cristiano Ronaldoâ€s brace – which took his tally to 20 goals this season – was the source of Unitedâ€s confidence and strength in the dying minutes of the encounter.

So 3-2 was the final score line, meaning that Aston Villa had been denied the possibility of ending their dreadful record against United since the 80s.

The worst that could happen to the Red Devils after securing the Carling Cup and an UEFA quarterfinal place this month is indeed happening in the most frustrating manner.
With seven goals conceded in their last three Premiership games and two losses against Liverpool and Londonâ€s Fulham, the World Champions look more beatable than ever this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who seemed to have given his all last week against the Merseyside Reds, was the home fans†clown on Saturday afternoon at Craven Cottage.

Manchester United were out to correct themselves after a humiliating 4-1 defeat at the Theatre of Dreams against Liverpool, this time with a trip to Fulham whom they previously trounced 3-0 and 4-0 in the EPL and the FA Cup respectively.

However, despite Ferdinand declaring his excitement and readiness ahead of the Fulham game, Manchester Unitedâ€s psychological strength was still questionable.
Alex Ferguson had revealed earlier in the week that winning the quintuple was a dream he had given up, while Liverpoolâ€s boss Rafael Benitez was all smiles putting pen to paper for a new 5-year-contract with his current club.

The smell of a title switch from the Red side of Manchester to the Red side of Liverpool was very much in the air. It was down to Fergieâ€s boys to let it fade away.

Only eighteen minutes had run down the clock and Manchester Unitedâ€s veteran player Paul Scholes was already sent off after handling the ball on the goal line. Danny Murphy had the opportunity to score past Van der Sar for the sixth time in just over 200 minutes and he didnâ€t miss it.

From there, the Red Devils†task was to overcome Fulhamâ€s formidable performance and the numerical disadvantage. But it went without saying that United – who didnâ€t create much trouble for the hosts – felt the frustration. One man amongst the Reds†ten men on the pitch who couldnâ€t hide his anguish the least was Cristiano Ronaldo.

His accentuated body language was the home fans†entertainment added to Fulhamâ€s ability to keep hold of their lead.
Ronaldo finally sustained a yellow card in the second half; he could easily have seen red if the referee had decided to punish him from protesting the judgment. Filled with anger and frustration throughout the rest of the game, Cristiano Ronaldo tried to get Manchester United back into the game with fierce attacks. But Fulhamâ€s keeper Schwartzer always looked alert enough to save every single ball.

If the second-half introduction of Wayne Rooney gave Manchester United the attacking sense they lacked off, it also spiced up the game with some controversy.
Fulham rounded up the game on 87 minutes when substitute Zoltan Gera fired the ball past the 38th-years-old Dutch keeper from Andy Johnson’s cross, much to the frustration of Wayne Rooney who wanted to waste no more time. This resulted in him being sent off for aggressively protesting at the referee for an United free-kick to be taking quickly.
But Fulham fans wouldnâ€t mind whatever had to be the perfect decision there. Their team had beating United for the first time in 45 years on a very bad day for the Red Devils.

Manchester United failed to reaffirm their authority, loosing back to back for the first time in over three years. The title race is still wide open to Liverpool especially who later trounced Aston Villa 5-0, while Chelsea lost to Tottenham on Saturday afternoon.

With the game being all square after Santa Cruz’s goal canceled out Rooney’s first half strike, the pressure was mounting on the Devils to pick up all three points at home.

Ronaldo was once again the victim of controversy as he escaped punishment after kicking out Blackburn’s David Dunn. The referee decided to let him go away with a warning only but then had him yellow carded after he appeared to have dived just outside the penalty box later on.

Locked on 11 goals in the EPL since scoring the winner against Everton at Old Trafford, Cristiano Ronaldo was determined to get his name on the scoring sheet this time round. And he didn’t fail to do it in a fashionable manner.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored Manchester United’s decisive goal on the night with a breathtaking free kick to record a 2-1 victory. The Red Devils are now seven points clear beyond the nearest title challengers Liverpool who dropped points on Sunday after a 1-1 draw at home to Manchester City.

Well, the Portuguese winger seems to be in a very good form lately, scoring goals, making tricks and flicks, and fiding back his pace with the ball.

United play Mourinho’s Internazionale on Tuesday at the San Siro in a battle of the Giants, with Ronaldo on one side, and Ibrahimovic on the other.

The Red Devils were threatening in attack with Park and Tevez piercing the midfield, but Ronaldo looked more like the one to break the deadlock. The Portuguese Superstar was very lively in the left wing, creating good chances and having a couple of opportunities for himself, but Tim Howard was alert enough to clear his line.

Then came the defining moment for Cristiano Ronaldo to put Manchester United ahead at the 44th minute: Arteta brought down Michael Carrick in the box; the referee did not hesitate to point to the spot. Fresh from scoring two goals in midweek on the same ground, Ronaldo kept his cool and slaughtered the ball past Tim Howard to inscribe his 11th league goal in as many as 20 appearances for the Reds this season.

As Van der Sar stretched his record of 12 clean sheets in a row, Ronaldoâ€s 44th minute penalty proved enough to separate the two sides and give Manchester United their 8th 1-0 Premiership win and 7th consecutive victory since their controversial goalless draw away to Spurs earlier in December.
