Things have not gone according to plan so far for the Spanish champions in 2012-13, as erratic form has blighted early season ambition. Poor results in the Primera Division see the capital-city side trailing Barcelona by eight points already. The main reason that can be accounted for this is CR7’s ill-content at the club, with the player admitted that he does not feel happy or valued in Madrid.

The talented forward has a phenomenal record for the Spanish side, and was the key to ending Barcelona’s reign of power last season. After three years of unequivocal success for the Catalan giants, something special was needed to knock the Camp Nou side off their pedestal. That something was a Cristiano Ronaldo inspired victory for Madrid in Catalunya, with the ex-Manchester United forward scoring the decisive goal.

This season, despite not being in the best mentality due to the afore-mentioned personal problems, Ronaldo salvaged a lacklustre Madrid side against Manchester City in the Champions League, scoring an individual last-minute winner to save the side’s blushes. Despite the ability of Karim Benzema, Mesut Ozil, Angel Di Maria and countless other superstars in the squad, Ronaldo is the man that makes the side tick.

After filling a similar talismanic role for Portugal at Euro 2012, Ronaldo is well and truly in the running for the next Ballon d’Or. It’s been 3 years since Cristiano Ronaldo joined Real Madrid for the first time. Probably people still remembered when on July 6th 2009, Cristiano Ronaldo taken his first step as a Madridista. Since then, no less than 146 goals have been recorded through either his feet and head. What makes it amazing is that all 146 goals came from 146 matches, that brought 2 titles for Los Blancos.

With €94 million transfer fee, Real Madrid was finally able to bring him to Santiago Bernabeu, with the hope that his presence will conquer Barcelona’s domination.

Unfortunately, it was a bad season for both Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid. While their rival Barcelona kept on climbing to reach the top, by grabbing 6 title from all 6 competition. Real Madrid’s dream team  failed to match Pep Guardiola’s squad.

But it wasn’t Ronaldo’s fault. As a professional player, he has shown an amazing performance. 33 goals in 35 matches is one hell of a record for a newbie in the club. Plus, his injury has prevented him from having a maximum achievement.

The second season, along with Jose Mourinho as a new coach, Ronaldo changed his shirt with his favorite number 7. With the lucky number, he managed to create 53 goals from all 54 matches, won the pichichi title, and grabbed Copa del Rey trophy with his goal over Barcelona in the final round. Not bad, not bad at all….

On the third season, Cristiano Ronaldo was unstoppable. Only Messi could match and even exceed his goal number. With 60 goals from 55 games, it was hard to believe that he just entered the Spain’s club 3 years ago, knowing that Messi already joined Barcelona for far longer time and made his debut in 2004. Based on this experience, I guess we can say that Ronaldo is still one step ahead Messi. Or am I wrong ?

But enough to say, the important thing is that finally in his third year, Cristiano Ronaldo was able to bring Los Blancos to conquer Barcelona from the league’s domination. Unbelievable….

Now, we should wait for his next round in his fourth season with Real Madrid. Will his goal statistic increase ? Will he provide more titles for Real Madrid ? I guess time will tell.

With the penalty in the last match against Granada, Ronaldo already collects 23 goals in all away league matches. Compared to Messi’s 15 goals in home game, or statistically 0,83 goal per game.

The duel between Ronaldo and Messi are endlessly. They have been compared to anything that related to football achievement. While Ronaldo is the king on away match, Messi is  considered as a king in home game, since he has collected 35 goals in Camp Nou this season. In statistic, he scored every 1,84 goal in every home match.

As for Ronaldo, he only recorded 22 goals at Santiago Bernabeu, with a statistic of 1,22 goal every home game.

Until now, there is no other player to score near the amount of Ronaldo’s home game record. The same happened with Messi’s away record, which none other players that ever reach his number of goals.

But for Ronaldo, his goal against Granada has adding his record as the first player in La liga to score in 8 consecutive away match.

A criticism of Ronaldo, and of Ballon d’Or holder and key rival Lionel Messi, is that he does not replicate his form and ability from the club game onto the international scene. For Ronaldo to really go down in history as one of the world’s best players and be compared to the likes of Pele and Diego Maradona, he now has the challenge of winning an international tournament to show his pedigree.

With Real Madrid this term Ronaldo has been unplayable at times. He has become the quickest player to every reach 100 La Liga goals for the Santiago Bernabeu club, and if he nets against Barcelona this weekend and Mallorca later in the campaign, will have scored against all 19 of the other sides in the Primera Division this season. Ronaldo is Jose Mourinho’s main attacking threat, and is a key man in potentially bringing success to Los Blancos at home and on the continent.

At Euro 2012 however, things will be slightly different. There will be no Mesut Ozil, Karim Benzema or Xabi Alonso like in his club life, and Ronaldo will be handed the task of inspiring a transitional Portugal side. The golden generation of Rui Costa, Luis Figo et al have been and gone, and the nation’s fans are now desperate to see Paulo Bento’s side excel in Ukraine and Poland.

Given the pedigree of the opponents that Portugal will face, Ronaldo will have to be at his best. There is an argument that Ronaldo will be something of a one-man band for the Portuguese side, but the likes of Fabio Coentrao, Nani and Joao Moutinho are all top players and should provide an excellent supporting cast for main man Ronaldo.

Portugal face Germany, Netherland and Denmark in Group B of the tournament, and progression would be an excellent achievement. The Danes are always a difficult and combative opponent, but the Portugal outfit will be hopeful of victory over the Scandinavians. Playing against the Dutch and the Germans will be mouth-watering ties for the impartial onlooker, and be a real test of Portugal and Ronaldo’s abilities.

Ready to shoot into superstardom, Ronaldo is sure to be motivated to excel this summer, and with the eyes of the footballing world on the tournament in Ukraine and Poland, the lethal attacker can all but put himself in the history books by inspiring Portugal to glory.

On some pictures, we can see Irina babysat lil Junior and other kids. Clearly, the boy is quite fond of her. Unfortunately, it wasn’t so much with Ronaldo’s mom, Dolores, as they both seemed to be sitting in a distance and not making any contact during the match.
