The Portuguese superstar officially became a Real Madrid player on July 6th which saw his childhood dream fulfilled.

Looking back at that day when almost 80,000 fans witness his Real Madrid presentation at the Santiago Bernabeu, Cristiano Ronaldo stated:

“My presentation was extraordinary. I had not prepared myself for the enormity of this kind of event… all those people came out to see me [at the Santiago Bernabeu].

“That way was incredible and exciting. It was one of the best days of my life.”

Cristiano Ronaldo once again entered into the history books as the most expensive player on the planet, costing a fee of € 94 million for Real Madrid to sign him from Manchester United.

His Real Madrid presentation was like no other playerâ€s inauguration that ever took place in Europe and in the rest of the world.

Cristiano Ronaldo was handed the number 9 jersey, inherited from Brazilâ€s Ronaldo, in front of the 80,000 Real Madrid fans.

From that day, it was clear that the prolific goal scorer would star for Los Blancos in a free role as a forward instead of just being deployed wide in the flanks.

“Playing as a forward is what I like,” Cristiano Ronaldo revealed.

“It gives me much freedom to move around thanks to the coach who gives me the opportunity to play like that.

“I can move from left to right whenever I feel to do so. Iâ€m very comfortable playing in such a position. I perform well like that.

“However, Iâ€ll play wherever Iâ€m told to.”

For Cristiano Ronaldo, being part of Real Madridâ€s team is not just a dream come true but also a source of pride and immense happiness.

The former Manchester United winger was no ashamed of revealing his delight. He avowed:

“Every time that I put on the white jersey, I feel satisfied and I always try to play at my very best.
“I canâ€t imagine any feeling greater than coming at the Santiago Bernabeu, scoring goals, and making the fans happy.”

He continued by praising the greatness of Real Madrid as a team:

“I play for the best club in the world, Real Madrid. I also have the best team mates; theyâ€re all unbelievably talented. Together, Iâ€m convinced that we can achieve great things.”

Cristiano Ronaldo has already scored six goals for Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League and he is also in the running to be La Ligaâ€s top scorer at the end of the season.

The former Manchester United star was anointed in 2009 as the particular player to power Real Madrid to success with the help of other stars which completed the entire squad.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo insisted that selfishness was not part of his attitudes as a Real Madrid player. CR9, who let his teammate Kaka convert penalties twice instead of taking them himself to increase his goal tally, explained:

“Iâ€m not driven by individual accolades. Whether itâ€s Benzema, me, or Higuain, the thing that matters is that we help Real Madrid to win.

“Winning titles is the first objective.”

However, with the pressure caused by the home fans, it was always obvious that Manuel Pellegrini would play Cristiano Ronaldo for the full 90 minutes.

Now, considering the playerâ€s health issues, it could be that he intentionally picked up a red card in order to escape Real Madridâ€s next La Liga fixture. (Remember that Cristiano Ronaldo is also expected to play against Marseille in midweek, so a lot of football action there for the man that just came back from injury some days ago.)

FIFAâ€s law of booking players who pull off their jerseys during celebration is well and truly executed by referees since four years now. Cristiano Ronaldo was never going to escape punishment after being shirtless but he could have saved himself from a sending off.

Less than five minutes remained but Cristiano Ronaldo failed to control himself on a night where his missed penalty distracted him.

All these things can happen in the moment. Pulling off his jersey during celebration was just something that showed his relief to have finally scored after missing a penalty kick.

Even if kicking at the defender was unnecessary from a point of view, letâ€s just assume that he might have only sustained a yellow card if the strange and controversial law of booking shirtless players was not in place.

Consequently, a question has already been raised: who will wear the number 7 jersey?

There have been speculations that Portuguese young player Nani could be the next on the list since his style of play looks very much like Cristiano Ronaldoâ€s. But these are only suggestions. On the other hand, reports claim that the Red Devils want to sign Real Madridâ€s Sneider.
