Portugal National team met the President of Portugal Cavaco Silva today during a meet and greet event. On the occasion, The President has encouraged all Portugal fans to trust the team, despite the difficult challenge in Euro 2012. Mr Silva still believe that they have hope , as all the players will give their best to honor the country.

Karim Benzema scored 2 goals on the match, while Ramos, Higuain, and Cristiano Ronaldo each scored 1 goal.

Although Madrid recorded a big win over Granada, it didn’t mean they made it easy. Infact, Mourinho squad had difficulties to break the opponents defense in the first half.

It was Benzema who open the score for Real Madrid at minute 19th, but 3 minutes later, Granada managed to equalize the point through Mikel Rico’s header.  Luckily, Sergio Ramos saved Real Madrid and doubled the score. 2-1 for Real Madrid until the break.

Real Madrid’s 3 goals were created on the second half, through Sami Khedira, Gonzalo Higuain, and Karim Benzema. Cristiano Ronaldo actually almost contributed a goal in minute 90th from a fantastic bicycle kick. However, the goal later got disallowed by the ref after Ronaldo was offside before the kick.

Despite being superior since early of the season, Real Madrid seemed to be hopeless when it comes to a fight against rival Barcelona. The host lost 1-3 from Barca players, by playing a risky frontal attack strategy.

Real Madrid actually opened the first goal through Benzema in just 20 seconds, and continued the attack fiercely. But after 30 minutes, they seemed to be losen their grip, and that was when Alexis Sanchez saw the opportunity and equalized the point.  1-1 for both team. Until the break, the result has not changed.

On the second half Barcelona leads the way, with 2 goals from Xavi Hernandez and Cesc Fabregas. It was Fabi first goal in El Clasico.

As for Cristiano Ronaldo ,  he is far from his usual performance. He often threw  bad passes, his shots was far from target, and he seemed tired throughout the match.

Overall, I have to say saluut to Benzema for his tireless effort, and also Kaka for his smart moves to break the defense. And also for all players for well-behave on the match(well, almost…).

Real Madrid succeeded in bringing home another victory against Sporting Gijon, and shuts Barcelona’s chance to catch up their points in the league standings .

With the 3-0 victory,  Real Madrid managed to maintain their distance against the strongest rival Barcelona with 6 points.

The next match will be the Clasico clash between the 2 Spanish giant. For Madrid, victory is a must to widen the points with Barca. With 9 points away, they will be harder to overtaken.

The award is the 5th edition from AS, which also honored the  other 2 athletes with the same award. The 3 athletes were chosen by the strong recognition in their fabulous career in 2011. Their names were the most voted through the poll from readers among all 13 nominees.

For Cristiano Ronaldo, he received the award for his 40 goals in last season.

“It’s a great honor to receive this award for the second time. It makes me very happy and I want to thank the fans and my teammates,” said Cristiano .

When he got asked whether he was living at his best moment of his career, he replied :

“Maybe, but there is still much to finish the season. I think I’m in a good time and want to continue. The team is in a good time and we have to continue this until the end of season. ”
