The game marked the first time that CR7 had returned to the Theatre of Dreams following his sensational transfer to Real Madrid during the summer of 2009. Instead of jeering him as some would have expected, the Portugal international was met with a warm applause by United fans.

Ronaldo scored Madrid’s goal during the first leg of the tie, which took place at the Santiago Bernabeu. He also ended up scoring the winning goal in England. United went ahead following an own goal from Sergio Ramos. However, Luka Modric and Ronaldo scored to put Madrid ahead.

“I have some [memories] at Manchester United and Liverpool, but I’d choose Manchester United,” Pepe told JOE.

“It was the way that the Manchester United fans welcomed back Cristiano, even though he left United and went to Real Madrid.

“The spirit of that really stayed with me. It really touched me the way they welcomed him back to Manchester United.”

It is not surprising that Ronaldo was met with a warm reception by United fans. His departure from the club in 2009 was not exactly on bitter terms. He contributed a lot to the Red Devils during his time with them and allowed the club to gain a then record-breaking £80 million for his sale.

Pepe and Ronaldo have played together for more than a decade through the Portugal national team as well as Real Madrid. After moving on from Los Blancos during the summer of 2017, Pepe went to play for Turkish club Besiktas. He has since re-joined Portuguese club Porto where he played between 2004-07.

At Madrid, the duo won three Champions League titles and two La Liga titles together. They have also tasted success together at international level after having won the European Championships in 2016 as well as the first-ever UEFA Nations League this year.

Ronaldo, meanwhile, is currently on the books of Juventus and will be aiming to win another Champions League with a third club during the upcoming season.

Portugal’s 3-2 victory over Denmark last night came in as a very close one. The goal from Silvestre Varela, a substitute player, saved the team from leaving early from the Euro 2012 competition. Valera’s name quickly became the spotlight as he mentioned as the team’s saviour, as well as Pepe and Helder Postiga’s name. Unfortunately, for Cristiano Ronaldo, rather then getting a praise for his performance, the media mentioned him as a flop of the match.

Before the game started, Cristiano Ronaldo was considered as the most important player that carried out the burden for the whole team. However, he failed to answer their hope, as his performance was rather disappointing and missed at least 3 golden chances.

His best moment was at minute 77th, where he had a face to face opportunity with Denmark’s goalkeeper in an open shot. But the ball was too wide on the right, and that was the best shot he had until the game ended.

At minute 49th, Cristiano Ronaldo actually had the similar chance with Stephan Andersen, the goalie. But somehow the Portugal captain failed to finish it into a goal.

And at the injury time, rather then creating more goal opportunity, Cristiano Ronaldo received  a yellow card. And until the match ended, he failed to present a pleasing performance for the national team. And to sum it up, the Real Madrid’s forward made another mistake in an interview after the match. Not happy by being pointed out as the flop of the game, Cristiano Ronaldo made a comparison with his rival Messi .

“Last year at this time Messi was eliminated from the Copa America and also playing at home. That’s worse, right? I’m here fighting to move to the next phase of the Euro”, stated Ronaldo to the media.

No doubt the press will use this against him.

This name instantly came into peopleâ€s mind and out of their mouth.

After a couple of weeks filled with debates around this issue, Paris Hilton somehow confirmed herself as the person behind Ronaldoâ€s curse.

In the German edition of celebrity gossip magazine Life & Style, Paris Hilton was quoted as saying:

“I cannot stand it when someone is mean. I want a man anyway. Not someone who runs about like a little girl.”

“He is a wimp!”

There is a sense that Paris Hilton has a lot of hatred against Ronaldo, probably because their relationship didnâ€t grow until marriage to emulate Victoria and David Beckham.

Could it be that she is really the one who asked Pepe The Wizard to put a curse on Ronaldo?

Well, perhaps Paris Hilton is just profiting of this story to be in the limelight once again…

Gone are the days when Ramon Calderon and Ferguson were fighting in a war of words for the signature of Ronaldo. The 24-year-old mega star has finally realized his childhood dream by joining Real Madrid earlier this summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to the Spanish capital put an end to all the rumors and speculations that filled magazines, newspapers, websites, TV, and radio programs with ink or words.

In fact, the Real Madrid saga was ending to make way for a new saga: the Ronaldo Curse saga.

Now at Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t only have to handle pressure on the field, but also off the pitch. It seems like Ronaldo’s private life is taking over his professional career.

This is the result of Pepe The Wizard’s curse on Cristiano Ronaldo. As understood, the wizard – revealed to be Pepe, a 57-year-old professional sorcerer leaving in Malaga – has been contracted by someone personally close to Cristiano Ronaldo.

So if statements are to be taken into consideration, it means that Cristiano Ronaldo’s private life issues are the source behind the problems that he is facing in his professional career.

Ronaldo’s car crash in January 2009, Ronaldo’s failure to score in five consecutive La Liga matches, and Ronaldo’s injury against Marseille that has sidelined him for around one month are believed to be signs of Pepe The Wizard’s curse on the current Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the year.

Ronaldo surely had a good start to his Real Madrid career, but what is the future hiding?

“He can bring many things to Madrid, certainly titles. But Cristiano canâ€t do it alone because he doesnâ€t play by himself and that is something everyone must realise,”

“He has the whole team behind him and he has to work hard, too. If we are consistent, Cristiano will be able to shine. With his quality, his class and his talent he will help us a lot in fighting for all the titles.”

Cristiano Ronaldo is not bad like the media show it

There has been so much negative talks over Cristiano Ronaldoâ€s behaviour in the media but Pepe thinks of Ronaldo differently. He said:

“Itâ€s normal that people have a distorted image of Cristiano because the press nowadays focus more on the issues off the pitch,”

“But Cristiano is very professional. He is very focused on his football and he follows the timetable exactly. He is a humble man, despite of all his surroundings. He doesnâ€t lose sight of the fact that heâ€s from Madeira.”

“For the time being, everything is going brilliantly,” Pepe continued talking about the situation in the dressing room.

“Everyone jokes around with him [Ronaldo] and soon, he will integrate fully into his new environment.”

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently in Ireland with the rest of the squad. Real Madrid are due to play Shamrock Rovers in a friendly match on June 20.
