Dimitar Berbatov has claimed that Manchester United star Marcus Rashford tries to emulate parts of the game of Cristiano Ronaldo. United may have struggled for consistency since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013 but it is hoped that the young Rashford can fire them back to their glory days. The club have lost the iconic status in World football since the departure of Sir Alex with Rashford being one of the few homegrown talents that they can celebrate. The youngster has drawn comparisons to Red Devils legend Wayne Rooney. Since bursting onto the first-team scene back in 2015, he has gone on to make 112 Premier League appearances so far and found the back of the net 29 times. Rashford does still have plenty of flaws in his game, one of which is his finishing. However, he is still only 21-years-old and will get better and likely iron out many of the errors in his game during the next few years. “He’s different. He runs towards people, tries to beat people. Rashford does still have plenty of flaws in his game, one of which is his finishing. However, he is still only 21-years-old and will get better and likely iron out many of the errors in his game during the next few years.

“He’s different. He runs towards people, tries to beat people. He has the confidence. He is quick which I never was” Berbatov told the South China Morning Post.

“He is working on his shooting technique, I can see this. He’s trying to imitate Ronaldo with his free-kicks.

“The only thing he needs to work on is the finishing – the small details with his finishing. He’s still so young but he has experience.”

Embed from Getty Images

There is certainly credibility to Berbatov’s claims

Rashford grew up during a time when Ronaldo used to dominate the headlines for United so in all probability, he idolizes the Portugal international. CR7 also recently admitted during a recent interview with The Times that he still watches videos of Ronaldo and Messi and gains some tips from them on how to improve his own game.

So far, it certainly does not look like Rashford is as talented as Ronaldo and Messi. The latter duo were already regarded as world-class and among the best in the world when they were 21. Rashford by contrast is a quality player but it would be an exaggeration to say that he can currently be considered to be among the best in the World. Nevertheless, he is capable of developing into one of the best and can help lead United to silverware which is something that they have been lacking since 2013.

The post Berbatov Claims Man United Star Tries to Emulate Ronaldo first appeared on Cristiano Ronaldo Fan | News, Photos, Blog, Pics, Videos.

Ronaldo finished as the Old Lady of Italian football’s top goal scorer last season after having scored 21 goals from 31 games.
Winning the Champions League with Juve his next target

Despite approaching the latter years of his career, Ronaldo remains as hungry as ever for success and there is no doubt that he will be aiming to lead Juve to Europe’s premier club competition, the one major trophy that has eluded Italy’s dominant football club. The one major setback which Ronaldo experienced last season was the shock elimination of Juventus from the Champions League during the quarter-final by Ajax. This may just end up costing him the Ballon d’Or award.

Embed from Getty Images

Ronaldo’s contract with Juve is valid for three years and this means that it will be due to expire at the end of the 2020-21 season, by which time he will be 36. Barring a massive decline in form, it appears unlikely at this stage that Ronaldo will hang up his boots by then; he will surely want to go to the 2022 World Cup with Portugal. United have been a shadow of the club that they once were since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013. It would be fitting that CR7 return to the club that helped make him a star and perhaps even end his career there. Perhaps, he can inspire them back to winning ways?

The post It Would Be Fitting for Ronaldo to Return to Man United first appeared on Cristiano Ronaldo Fan | News, Photos, Blog, Pics, Videos.

The comparisons between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will always result in intense debates that are almost impossible to resolve. There are strong cases to be made for both players as to who is better. However, the following are some of Ronaldo’s achievements that Messi may never quite manage to emulate. 1. Winning a major international trophy Ronaldo has been the face of Portuguese football since his early 20s and Messi has also been the face of Argentinian football since his early 20s. Both Portugal and Argentina have been under-achievers in international football in recent decades and both countries have been considered one-man nations, which rely too heavily on Ronaldo and Messi, respectively. Ronaldo ended his international trophy drought when he won the Euro 2016 Championships, with Portugal 20/1 with bookmakers to retain their title in 2020. As this review of matchbook shows, better odds may be available when betting directly against other players. Messi, meanwhile, has yet to win a major international trophy and at 31 years old, it remains to be seen if he will ever do so. Ronaldo’s international stats also make for better reading.

The comparisons between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will always result in intense debates that are almost impossible to resolve. There are strong cases to be made for both players as to who is better. However, the following are some of Ronaldo’s achievements that Messi may never quite manage to emulate.

1. Winning a major international trophy

Ronaldo has been the face of Portuguese football since his early 20s and Messi has also been the face of Argentinian football since his early 20s.

CR7 has managed 85 goals for his country from 156 appearances, while Messi has scored 65 goals for his country from 129 appearances.

2. Score more than 50 goals during six consecutive seasons

From the 2010-11 campaign until the 2015-16 season, Ronaldo scored more than 50 goals in six consecutive seasons. Messi, meanwhile, scored more than 50 goals in four out of those six seasons. Considering his advancing age, Messi may never score more than 50 goals over six consecutive seasons as Ronaldo did.

Embed from Getty Images

3. Goals to game ratio in La Liga

Both Ronaldo and Messi are prolific scorers and are likely to find the back of the net every weekend. During his time in the La Liga, Ronaldo scored 311 league goals for Madrid from 292 games. He, therefore, scores an average of more than a goal a game.

Messi has so far scored 414 goals from 445 La Liga games and therefore averages slightly less than a goal per game. Messi may never be able to better Ronaldo’s goal to game record at this stage of his career.

4. Success in different leagues

One of the big criticisms of Messi is that he did not taste success outside of the La Liga or outside of Barcelona. Some critics argue that he would have not have fared as well had he been playing in England.

Messi never played nor won titles outside the La Liga. Ronaldo, by contrast, won three Premier League titles with Manchester United and also helped the Red Devils to win one Champions League title. In addition to his successes at the Santiago Bernabeu, he also helped Juventus to win the Supercoppa Italia this season. The Old Lady of Italian football also convincingly won the Serie A convincingly this season.

The post Things Ronaldo Has Done That Messi May Never Achieve first appeared on Cristiano Ronaldo Fan | News, Photos, Blog, Pics, Videos.

Cristiano Ronaldo is certainly one of the most decorated football icons of the modern generation. What very few deny is that Ronaldo is one of the most talented footballers of all-time and while CR7 has his admirers, he also has his haters. Overall, the public perception of Ronaldo is very mixed, despite him currently being even-money to win the 2018 Ballon d’Or, which may prove a prudent use of a coupon code. Below are some of the main reasons people dislike Ronaldo. 1. Ability Ronaldo has earned himself millions in cash as a result of his abilities on the pitch and has led Manchester United, Real Madrid and Portugal to major football trophies. Some people hate him simply because they are jealous of the money that he has and the success that he has achieved. 2.

1. Ability

Ronaldo has earned himself millions in cash as a result of his abilities on the pitch and has led Manchester United, Real Madrid and Portugal to major football trophies. Some people hate him simply because they are jealous of the money that he has and the success that he has achieved.

2. Arrogance

It can be argued that Ronaldo does not always answer questions in the most humble way. When asked about why opposition fans jeer him, he said: “It is because I am handsome, rich and a great player, because I am envied. I have no other explanation,”

He also once said: “They hate me because I am too good.’” While this may be somewhat true in some cases, it is also not the most humble thing to say.

Embed from Getty Images

3. Behaviour

During the 2006 World Cup, Ronaldo got his then Manchester United team-mate Wayne Rooney sent off after the former Evertonian appeared to stamp on Ricardo Carvalho. After Rooney and Ronaldo had an exchange on the pitch, Ronaldo winked towards his team’s dugout and this was a questionable behavioural decision.

“Sometimes you do things because emotions are running high, but Wayne is my good friend,” Ronaldo told News of the World. “I can’t regret it because I think the whole experience made me stronger.”

4. Ego

Ronaldo has certainly been known to perform over-the-top celebrations at times after scoring a goal. Ronaldo’s past celebrations have included leg-muscle flexes as well as a reference to the number of goals he has scored.

What is more is that he opened a museum dedicated to himself and his achievements in Madeira, Portugal.

5. Clubs

The best times of Ronaldo’s career have been spent with Manchester United and Real Madrid, who are two polarising clubs in that they also have their equal share of lovers and haters. Real have managed to win 32 league titles and ten Champions League titles through their superior transfer budget compared to the majority of teams. Some argue that they have bought their success.

The post Why Do So Many People Hate Cristiano Ronaldo? first appeared on Cristiano Ronaldo Fan | News, Photos, Blog, Pics, Videos.

Ronaldo and Hazard to be used in swap deal?

Meanwhile, the future of Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge is currently the subject of intense speculation, with the Belgian being strongly linked with a move to Madrid.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is keen to make a marquee signing this summer, so much so that he is even willing to use Hazard as part of a deal that will see Ronaldo join the Blues.

Embed from Getty Images

Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane recently played down speculation that Ronaldo could leave the Santiago Bernabeu when he said: “I can’t imagine a Real Madrid without Cristiano, not at all.

“He’s a Madrid player and he wants to finish his career here. I don’t see him playing anywhere else.”

Why a Man United move is unlikely

Ronaldo is said to believe that a move to Chelsea is the best offer that he will get and it is unlikely that he will move back to United, considering his relationship with Jose Mourinho deteriorated at Madrid.

United have twice been used by Ronaldo in the past as he leveraged their interested to negotiate new contracts with Los Blancos in 2013 and 2015.

Embed from Getty Images

Real’s troubled relationship with United will also further complicate matters.

United refused to let the Spanish giants have goalkeeper David De Gea three years ago and in turn, Real did not let the Red Devils sign striker Alvaro Morata.

Morata eventually ended up joining Chelsea last summer and has scored 12 goals for the club so far.

Cristiano still hungry for a challenge

CR7 may now be past his prime but he still appears to be hungry as ever to win games and carry on playing, and it is unlikely that he will quit the game anytime soon.

With things not going according to plan at Real this season, combined with his accusations of tax evasion, the 32-year-old may just fancy a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu in order to pursue a fresh challenge.

Should Chelsea sign Ronaldo, it will be a major coup and in addition to providing them with quality on the pitch, he will also be a good mentor to younger players within the squad.

The post Ronaldo ‘Prefers Move to Chelsea’ Over Man United first appeared on Cristiano Ronaldo Fan | News, Photos, Blog, Pics, Videos.

Speculation linking Cristiano Ronaldo with a move away from Real Madrid has intensified today, with the 32-year-old ‘desperate’ for a January transfer. Spanish publication Diario Gol broke the news earlier today, following reports the Portuguese superstar had been house-hunting in the UK to start planning for life away from the Santiago Bernabeu. Ronaldo has reportedly become disillusioned with life at Real Madrid, after being investigated for tax evasion last summer and seeing his relationship with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez deteriorate. The 32-year-old has long expressed his admiration for former club Manchester United, who are considered favourites ahead of Chelsea and PSG to sign the star should Real acquiesce to Cristiano’s recent request to have the price of his buy-out clause reduced from a symbolic €1 billion to a figure in the region of €100 million.

Speculation linking Cristiano Ronaldo to his former club Manchester United has intensified, following revelations that the Portuguese star made a ‘secret’ house-hunting trip to the UK last month. According to reports in national newspapers in the UK, the 32-year-old also checked out a number of private prep schools for his seven-year-old son Cristiano Jr during his low-key visit. The Mirror alleges that the Real Madrid superstar wants his children to receive an education fit for royalty, and has been looking into a number of schools on par with the Thomas’s Battersea prep school, attended by Prince George.
“I have not been fortunate enough to work with him but there is still hope some day it might be possible.”

United could not have turned down an £80 million offer from Real Madrid for Ronaldo because of his desire to move to Spain but that price looks like a bargain now. He also single handedly steered Portugal the World Cup and deserves to win the Ballon d’Or this year. He is unstoppable.

Recent reports in the British press state that Manchester United are set to up their efforts to resign former star Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid. Although one of the best players in the world, with the Portugal international’s contract running down at the Santiago Bernabeu, there are rumblings that the Spaniards may look to cash in on their star attacker. However, Ronaldo’s fate may well be tied in with the future of Tottenham’s Gareth Bale, a player that odds suggest could move to the Spanish capital city giants. Should Madrid manage to pry the Welsh superstar away from the north London club, he could well be earmarked as a replacement for Ronaldo as the club’s main man. Whether Spurs would be willing to sell Bale is another thing. The club are eager to hold onto their top player, and with the attacker still having a long-term contract at White Hart Lane, Tottenham are in no real need to sell their best player.

That said, should Madrid put the pressure on the north London club, like they did in the pursuit of Luka Modric, there is every chance the player could push for a deal to be completed.

Bale is not the only big name being linked with a switch to Madrid. Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani and Isco are all reported targets for the club, and with a new manager coming into place there could be major changes in the Spanish capital. To balance the books and to lead the club into a new era, it may well be deemed time for Ronaldo to move on too.

Ronaldo still has a thorough respect for his former club, and if he was to leave Madrid, United would be one of the few teams he would move to. Whether he would consider Ligue 1 with moneybags Paris Saint-Germain or AS Monaco is questionable, while only the likes of Manchester City or Chelsea would also be in a position to afford him.

There are a lot of ifs and buts to be answered this summer, but a return to United is not out of the question. However, it does depend on a lot of factors, and it may well be that Ronaldo stays with the Spanish giants for another year and assesses his future next summer.

The post Does Bale hold the key for Ronaldo to return to United? first appeared on Cristiano Ronaldo Fan | News, Photos, Blog, Pics, Videos.

Much is expected this season for Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid, who are fresh from snatching the La Liga title from rivals Barcelona’s grasp last season. With the calibre of player available to the Portuguese coach, the financial clout behind the club and the intense supporter backing of the Santiago Bernabeu faithful, Los Blancos are expected to whitewash all that crosses their path. The difference whether they can do it or not? One Cristiano Ronaldo. Things have not gone according to plan so far for the Spanish champions in 2012-13, as erratic form has blighted early season ambition. Poor results in the Primera Division see the capital-city side trailing Barcelona by eight points already. The main reason that can be accounted for this is CR7’s ill-content at the club, with the player admitted that he does not feel happy or valued in Madrid. The talented forward has a phenomenal record for the Spanish side, and was the key to ending Barcelona’s reign of power last season.

After three years of unequivocal success for the Catalan giants, something special was needed to knock the Camp Nou side off their pedestal. That something was a Cristiano Ronaldo inspired victory for Madrid in Catalunya, with the ex-Manchester United forward scoring the decisive goal.

This season, despite not being in the best mentality due to the afore-mentioned personal problems, Ronaldo salvaged a lacklustre Madrid side against Manchester City in the Champions League, scoring an individual last-minute winner to save the side’s blushes. Despite the ability of Karim Benzema, Mesut Ozil, Angel Di Maria and countless other superstars in the squad, Ronaldo is the man that makes the side tick.

After filling a similar talismanic role for Portugal at Euro 2012, Ronaldo is well and truly in the running for the next Ballon d’Or. FootballTop is an alternative to FIFA and UEFA rankings that indicates international public rating of clubs, championships, players, national teams; it currently has CR7 is the most popular and most respected player in the modern game.

All legendary teams have their star players that make the side successful. The Brazil side of the 1970’s had Pele, Argentina’s World Cup winning side had Diego Maradona; the difference between success or monumental failure for this Real Madrid side is Cristiano Ronaldo, and the club must do all it can to keep the superstar happy and firing.

Let’s prove that Cristiano Ronaldo is the best footballer nowadays by voting for him on the FootbalTop.com.

The post Cristiano Ronaldo: The difference between success and failure for Real Madrid first appeared on Cristiano Ronaldo Fan | News, Photos, Blog, Pics, Videos.
