The youngster has drawn comparisons to Red Devils legend Wayne Rooney. Since bursting onto the first-team scene back in 2015, he has gone on to make 112 Premier League appearances so far and found the back of the net 29 times. Rashford does still have plenty of flaws in his game, one of which is his finishing. However, he is still only 21-years-old and will get better and likely iron out many of the errors in his game during the next few years.

“He’s different. He runs towards people, tries to beat people. He has the confidence. He is quick which I never was” Berbatov told the South China Morning Post. 

“He is working on his shooting technique, I can see this. He’s trying to imitate Ronaldo with his free-kicks.

“The only thing he needs to work on is the finishing – the small details with his finishing. He’s still so young but he has experience.”

There is certainly credibility to Berbatov’s claims

Rashford grew up during a time when Ronaldo used to dominate the headlines for United so in all probability, he idolizes the Portugal international. CR7 also recently admitted during a recent interview with The Times that he still watches videos of Ronaldo and Messi and gains some tips from them on how to improve his own game.

So far, it certainly does not look like Rashford is as talented as Ronaldo and Messi. The latter duo were already regarded as world-class and among the best in the world when they were 21. Rashford by contrast is a quality player but it would be an exaggeration to say that he can currently be considered to be among the best in the World. Ronaldo’s contract with Juve is valid for three years and this means that it will be due to expire at the end of the 2020-21 season, by which time he will be 36. Barring a massive decline in form, it appears unlikely at this stage that Ronaldo will hang up his boots by then; he will surely want to go to the 2022 World Cup with Portugal. Ronaldo has been the face of Portuguese football since his early 20s and Messi has also been the face of Argentinian football since his early 20s. Spanish publication Diario Gol broke the news earlier today, following reports the Portuguese superstar had been house-hunting in the UK to start planning for life away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ronaldo has reportedly become disillusioned with life at Real Madrid, after being investigated for tax evasion last summer and seeing his relationship with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez deteriorate.

The 32-year-old has long expressed his admiration for former club Manchester United, who are considered favourites ahead of Chelsea and PSG to sign the star should Real acquiesce to Cristiano’s recent request to have the price of his buy-out clause reduced from a symbolic €1 billion to a figure in the region of €100 million.

Real reportedly willing to sell up

Despite closing out 2017 with further individual awards, including the European Sportsperson of the Year and Globe Soccer Best Player of the Year, Ronaldo has had a relatively torrid time in La Liga this season, with Real currently sitting fourth in the table; 14 points behind runaway leaders and long-time rivals Barcelona.

And, according to Diario Gol, Real may be sensationally prepared to let Ronaldo walk should they receive any suitable offers over the next few weeks.

According to reports in national newspapers in the UK, the 32-year-old also checked out a number of private prep schools for his seven-year-old son Cristiano Jr during his low-key visit.

Ronaldo has been at the very top of the game for years but this season he has somehow managed to take his game up another notch and wherever you look, the numbers are mind boggling.

However, Ronaldo’s fate may well be tied in with the future of Tottenham’s Gareth Bale, a player that odds suggest could move to the Spanish capital city giants. Should Madrid manage to pry the Welsh superstar away from the north London club, he could well be earmarked as a replacement for Ronaldo as the club’s main man.

Whether Spurs would be willing to sell Bale is another thing. The club are eager to hold onto their top player, and with the attacker still having a long-term contract at White Hart Lane, Tottenham are in no real need to sell their best player. That said, should Madrid put the pressure on the north London club, like they did in the pursuit of Luka Modric, there is every chance the player could push for a deal to be completed.

Bale is not the only big name being linked with a switch to Madrid. Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani and Isco are all reported targets for the club, and with a new manager coming into place there could be major changes in the Spanish capital. To balance the books and to lead the club into a new era, it may well be deemed time for Ronaldo to move on too.

Ronaldo still has a thorough respect for his former club, and if he was to leave Madrid, United would be one of the few teams he would move to. Whether he would consider Ligue 1 with moneybags Paris Saint-Germain or AS Monaco is questionable, while only the likes of Manchester City or Chelsea would also be in a position to afford him.
