Real Madrid hold on to Ronaldo pursuit

Part I of the Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga has ended months ago but the second part of this soap opera is about to hit the TV screens and make the front pages once again.

The dome of Manchester United is presently at peace. Fergie and David Gill can be proud of their success in last summer’s hottest war of words against the Spanish Giants. But sooner very soon, it will be the same old thing: Manchester United will have to play the game of resistance to keep Cristiano Ronaldo the Great from going to Spain.

The transfer saga is closed, it seems… well, in suspension I should say because Madrid’s desire to sign the 23 year old Portuguese captain is burning like the sun in Spain.

A few days ago, Bernd Schuster revealed in an interview that the chase for Cristiano Ronaldo was still on. The German is a great admirer of the Manchester United ace and understands why it is so hard to make a move for him, since Fergie will not want to miss the services of such a wonderful player even for a realistic price worth 100 million dollars.

Schuster affirmed that bringing Ronaldo to the Bernabeu was still a great possibility especially because in the summer, the player himself proved much interest in joining the Spanish Champions one of these days.

But what about now? Perhaps Ronaldo finally wants to stay in England for at least a couple of years. After all, he is enjoying a lot of success at Old Trafford and is on the brink of being the greatest number 7 ever.
