Manchester United, Ronaldo’s focus

After netting his 11th goal of the Premier League and 15th goal of the season – which saw Manchester United widen the gap at the top of the table to five points at the end of the day – Cristiano Ronaldo revealed his confidence in Manchester United.

“We are back where we belong now – on top.

“That is the most important thing and that is where we can stay now,” Ronaldo stated.

Despite seeing their five-points margin reduced to only two points after Liverpool beat Chelsea the day after, the Red Devils are still in a strong position to claim the title this year again; with one game in hand, and with a good winning record despite the absence of key players like Rooney, Evra, Anderson or even Rafael, things look very positive for Manchester United.

Once the ‘leading character’ in last summer’s transfer saga/soap-opera, Cristiano Ronaldo is now a victorious hero at Old Trafford. With trophies like the Ballon d’Or and the Fifa Player of the Year already in his room of awards, there could be even more to celebrate come the end of the season as the Red Devils – who are performing well on all fronts – are poised to win the quadruple.

On the other side of the scene though, far away in Spain, things aren’t looking too bright for ‘hunters’ and Giants Real Madrid. The Galacticos are out the Copa del Ray and twelve points behind the leaders Barcelona… How will it have turned out for Cristiano Ronaldo if he had joined Los Blancos?

Perhaps, the Star winger wouldn’t even have been the answer to Madrid’s miserable fate. So in a way on another, was Fergie not right to say that Cristiano Ronaldo is at the best club – where team success and individual achievements are a possibility and a living dream?

Well, the January transfer window has now come to a close and Cristiano Ronaldo remains at Old Trafford. Whatever happens next season in the transfer market – with suggestions that Ronaldo’s mind is Real, the attention is on current issues. And one thing is certain: Cristiano Ronaldo will fight until the end to help Manchester United rule the world again.
