Florentino Perez: I wouldn’t sell Ronaldo, not even for €1 billion

Florentino Perez insists Cristiano Ronaldo will not leave Real Madrid in the summer following links with Manchester United.

United have been linked with a move for their former forward, who has two years left on his current deal at the Bernabeu, while Chelsea have also been credited with an interest.

However, Real president Perez insists he has no intention of selling the Portuguese star and claims a bid of 1,000 million euros would not be enough to convince him to allow Ronaldo to leave.

I will do everything in my power to renew the contract. He has two years left on his contract, he is the best in the world and we would like to give a boost to the team with him as a leader and an emblem,” Perez told Marca. “I would not sell him for 1,000million euros. We are not a selling club.”

“He is a winner and he wants to win titles and Real Madrid is the right place for it. When he said he was sad [in September], he talked to me and I told him I would do everything possible for him to be happy.”

The rumours of where Cristiano Ronaldo will be playing next season doesn’t seem to have an ending. In a recent Tweet, Cristiano Ronaldo says: “All the news about my renewal are false”.

His recent twitter activity shows he could be stalling on renewing his contract, however, the bookies confidently believe he will still be at the Bernabeu come the end of the summer transfer window. At the moment you get an odds at 5 if he decides to switch club from Real Madrid.

Something that could increase the chances according to The Sun is that Ronaldo will return to his former club Man Utd is a possible swoop of the Tottenham star Gareth Bale where rumours are indicating a record £85 million transfer.
