Manchester United failed to show to the whole world that the club was not a one-man team but rather a squad where victory is the work of each and every player.
Their loss on Friday night in the Super Cup came as a huge disappointment to all Manchester United supporters.
The Red Devils who were powered by Ronaldo’s amazing 42 goals last season have since struggled to find the back of the net. They lack of creativity up front and not even Nani or Tevez can replace what has been missing since Ronaldo’s absence.
The Manchester United number 7 Superstar is still on the sidelines due to the ankle operation he had earlier in July.
According to reports, he might be available only in October at least. However, it now looks as if Ronaldo has dismissed these reports.
‘I am feeling fine. I am feeling really good and my recovery is going well,’ the 23-year-old said.
‘I am more than happy with my progress and I hope to be back playing for United by the end of September – that is my target and it is a realistic one.
‘It has been frustrating to miss the start of the Premier League season but I am pleased with my rehabilitation and, hopefully, I’ll be ready soon.’
The Portuguese winger seems to have found a miraculous healing that will enable him come back sooner rather than later.
Now, Manchester United fans should pray that the club can still go on even without Ronaldo.
The EPL defending champions have difficult upcoming fixtures. They will have to play against Liverpool and Chelsea in the league and, Villareal in the Champions League without Paul Scholes who is suspended.
