Cristiano Ronaldo to put pen to paper and rumours to bed

World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo is said to be in talks with Manchester United for a new contract that will see him earn £ 180,000 a week and therefore shut down speculations that he might be leaving for Real Madrid.

“I feel very happy where I am now. I like to do what I do, it’s my dream and this is my life,” Ronaldo stated in The Daily Mirror before Manchester United’s game at home to Liverpool.

“There is always speculation about me. It’s normal, the people have done this for the last few years but I’m always strong, mentally and physically.

“Manchester are playing very well, I feel very happy here. I don’t want to go anywhere, I want to stay here.”

“The team is more mature, more experienced and when you go to the pitch you know what you are going to do and this is why we have a good team.”

However, the Red Devils surprisingly lost 4-1 to their archrivals Liverpool but this crushing defeat didn’t seem to unsettle last summer’s soap-opera leading role Cristiano Ronaldo.

“I’m happy. United is still the best team in Europe and the Premier League is the most competitive and I feel happy here,” Ronaldo retorted to The Sunday Express on Sunday.

Switching to Spain might see the Portuguese Superstar affront Barcelona’s Argentine forward Lionel Messi much to delight of football debaters.
Replying to all the boring ‘Ronaldo v Messi’ debates, Ronaldo said:

“I do not compare myself with Messi,”

“He is a very good player, but comparisons are never helpful.”

Ronaldo seems to be the kind of person that concentrates on his own status instead of looking around him. This philosophy certainly powered him to achieve the best of what he could do last season, scoring 42 goals and clinching the double with Manchester United as well as a multitude of awards.

Now the Portuguese ace is aiming to stay with the best club in the world and fulfil his dream of winning titles over titles. He may become the Red Devils’ biggest number 7 Star ever.
