This weekend, Portugal play Denmark away from home as qualification for the finals of the World Cup in South Africa resumes over the planet.

Cristiano Ronaldo returns to the national squad after missing out on the friendly against Liechtenstein that was played earlier in August.

The 24-year-old captain will have some points to prove after failing to impress the Portuguese FA throughout this year.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who has reached every heights in club football, is accused of underrating national team football. With Portugal’s crucial state in the qualification table, pressure will be on the visitors to deliver on Saturday.

Despite the critical condition in which the Portuguese find themselves, Ronaldo is confident that his country will be present during the World Cup in 2010. He affirmed:

“There is great pressure, that is true. It’s normal, with everything at stake. But I am sure we will achieve victory and my team will be at the World Cup in South Africa,”

“I am convinced Portugal will be at the World Cup. For sure.”
