Cristiano Ronaldo Scores Winning Goal – Real Madrid Qualifies for Champions League Quarter Final

10 men’s Manchester United got kicked off from Champions League  competition after losing 1-2 to Real Madrid at Old Trafford last night. With score aggregate of 2-3, Madrid is now qualifies to the quarter final round, facing Borussia Dortmund who won 3-0 against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Red Devils actually had their chance to lead the game after a suicide goal from Sergio Ramos early on the second half round,  but  it soon turned into a nightmare after Luis Nani had to be sent off the match for knocking Arbeloa at minute 56th. The ref’s decision was a bit controversial since Nani said he didn’t see Arbeloa during the ball fight.

Lead with number of players, Madrid had their chance to equalize the score through Luka Modric at minute 66th. And 3 minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo doubled the point, made it seems impossible for the host to catch up. However, no celebration came from Ronaldo after the goal, in order to honor his ex club.

United’s almost had their second goal 10 minutes before the match ended, but still failed. Diego Lopes was brilliant after he successfully blocked Nemanja Vidic’s header at injury time. That was the last attempt for United’s, and until the match ended, the score remains the same, 1-2 for Madrid’s victory.
