Real Madrid went down to Barcelona at the Camp Nou last Sunday in what was Cristiano Ronaldo first El Clasico. However, the Portuguese superstar doesn’t feel dejected and his ambition of winning La Liga title remains well alive.
Cristiano Ronaldo had a couple of good opportunities to score for Real Madrid but somehow failed to do so. At a point in the first twenty minutes of the match, his low shot was instantly saved by Barcelona’s keeper Victor Valdes.
In the second period, Cristiano Ronaldo sent his header above the crossbar though he should have done better than that from eight six yards out.
Speaking to AS in the aftermath of El Clasico, Cristiano Ronaldo revealed his emotions. He declared:
“The truth is that I do not lose sleep over it. Such things happen in football. I tried, it didn’t work, so I’ll try again.”
Reflecting on Real Madrid’s defeat last Sunday and looking ahead to this weekend’s home match against Almeria at the Santiago Bernabeu, Cristiano Ronaldo affirmed:
“It was a good game [El Clasico]. We had chances, but we didn’t score.
“There is no regret. We will lift our heads high and work in order to win the next match.”
Real Madrid host Almeria on Saturday evening and Cristiano Ronaldo could feature in Los Blancos’ starting line-up once again.
