Cristiano Ronaldo is among the ten candidates for the UEFA Best Player in Europe award 2012/13. The Portuguese is among the players voted for by a jury of journalists from each of UEFA’s member association. On 6th August, the shortlist will be reduced to three players and the prize will eventually be awarded in Monaco on Thursday 29th August during the draw for the group stage of the Champions League.
The Real Madrid player’s performances last season led to him being nominated for this award for the third consecutive year. Cristiano Ronaldo has been up for the award every season since its creation and this time the other players in the list of ten candidates are Bale, Ibrahimovic, Lewandowski, Messi, Muller, Ribery, Robben, Schweinsteiger and Van Persie.
