The transfer saga is over, yes, but the Giants of Madrid haven’t stop chasing the precious boy from Madeira – Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 23 year old Portuguese footballer has declared several time this season that he was delighted with his life at Manchester and focused on leading the Red Devils to achieve more success this year again.
Despite scoring the winner against Derby over the two legs in the League Cup semis, Ronaldo’s current form is yet to equal the one he had last season. After showing a consistent remarkable performance throughout last year, pressure has been on Ronaldo to emulate his pedigree this time round.
It’s certainly not an easy thing to do and Ronaldo made it clear that hitting the form he had in 2008 was a real challenge.
Perhaps Ronaldo’s physical condition has something to do with his failure to be the “Ronaldo” we all knew last year. However, this seems not to be the only cause.
Real Madrid’s game of hunt looks to have an impact of Ronaldo’s mentality. The Spanish Giants seemed to have given up their chase for Ronaldo earlier in October-November. But recent rumors show that the Galacticos are still very much interested in signing the Portuguese Star winger.
With Calderon out of the club and Vicente Boluda in as the new president, it looks like Madrid’s bid for Ronaldo has become a more serious affair – and not just a kind of soap-opera about to hit the TV screens.
Therefore, this year presents two great challenges for Ronaldo: to defeat pressure caused by Madrid’s hunt and to find back the super form he once had.
