The 0-0 score line that Manchester United had against Aston Villa in Saturday’s late kick-off was surely not Fergie’s desire. The Red Champions missed the chance to close on Chelsea and Liverpool who also drew goalless.
After dropping two important points, Manchester United could also lose Cristiano Ronaldo for the midweek game in Spain against the Yellow Submarines.
Ronaldo caught up a bad injury which Fergie couldn’t describe more:
“His leg’s in a mess,†the Scottish manager said after the match.
Ronaldo had a miserable week featuring in Portugal’s heavy 6-2 defeat to Brazil. Saturday’s goalless draw was certainly not the best of consolation for the Star winger who had passed a century of goals in grand fashion the week before.
Now, last season’s European Top Scorer, who is yet to score a goal in this season’s Champion League, will certainly miss Manchester United’s trip to Villareal – a team which the Red Champions haven’t managed to score against in over 270 minutes.
