Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz on Friday named the following 17-man squad for the friendly against China at the Cidade de Coimbra stadium on March. 3.
Forwards Cristiano Ronaldo and Hugo Almeida plus midfielder Pedro Mendes return to the squad after missing Portugal’s last match due to injuries, while Porto winger Silvestre Varela has been called up for the first time.
Queiroz said he may call up more players to the squad after this weekend.

Defenders: Bruno Alves (Porto), Paulo Ferreira (Chelsea), Ricardo Carvalho (Chelsea), Rolando (Porto), Miguel (Valencia).
Midfielders: Duda (Malaga), Pedro Mendes (Sporting), Raul Meireles (Porto), Tiago (Atletico Madrid).
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Liedson (Sporting), Nani (Manchester United), Simao Sabrosa (Atletico Madrid), Silvestre Varela (Porto), Hugo Almeida (Werder Bremen).
After todays match against Tenerife, all Madrid players will get 3 days off, and the first training will be on 2nd March.
For Cristiano Ronaldo who’s been called-up by his Portugal team, it seems that he won’t be joining the team on a training session next Tuesday cause of his national duty for attending China friendly match against Portugal.
