The Real Madrid star handed over the incredible sum to charity Save the Children, French sports magazine So Foot claimed.

Nearly 8,000 people were killed after the natural disaster struck, causing untold destruction as well as a lethal avalanche on Mount Everest.

Cristiano Ronaldo has proved again that he’s a kind human being and putting his massive array of riches to good use.

With a long history of being charitable for a good cause, the 30-year-old Portuguese superstar reportedly has donated £5 million to Save the Children, an organization working to aid Nepal in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake.

Last month real madrid star also called upon his legion of Facebook followers to donate to the charity. Ronaldo showed just last week his affinity for the organisation on his Facebook page:

Ronaldo joins Real greats in 300 club with his historic 5 goal haul

A five-goal haul in Sunday’s 9-1 win over Granada saw Cristiano Ronaldo join Real Madrid’s 300 club alongside Raul and Alfredo Di Stefano.

Cristiano Ronaldo moved to 300 goals for Real Madrid on Sunday as he scored five times in their 9-1 rout of Granada.

The Ballon d’Or holder registered an eight-minute hat-trick before half-time – the quickest treble of his Real career – and then added two more after the break at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ronaldo‘s fifth goal – an injury-time header – took him to 300 goals for the club, making him the third player to achieve that feat after Real legends Raul and Alfredo Di Stefano.

Former Spain skipper Raul scored 323 goals in 741 games for Real, while Di Stefano‘s tally stands at 308 from 396 outings.

Ronaldo reached the 300 mark in an astounding 287 games, with 214 of those goals coming in La Liga. The Portugal captain has 60 to his name in the UEFA Champions League, as well as 21 in the Copa del Rey, three in the Supercopa de Espana and two in the European Super Cup.

After his stunning display on Sunday, Ronaldo tweeted: ”Happy to have scored 5 goals with this excellent team work. Thank you for all your support.”

Ronaldo now sits eighth in La Liga’s all-time scoring charts, having overtaken Pahino, who scored 211 times in 278 games for Real, Celta Vigo and Deportivo La Coruna in the 1940s and 50s.

GOLDEN PHONE: Cristiano Ronaldo’s latest Ballon D’Or brag

The Portuguese player had his smartphone customized after winning his third Golden Ball last January.

Cristiano Ronaldo has reasons to be proud of himself, and his latest item is proof of it. The Portuguese player customized his iphone 6 to brag about his third Ballon D’Or, having the logo carved on the smartphone’s case. CR7 reportedly paid Swedish company Golden Concept 1,000 euros for the design, joining other players like Neymar and Felipe Melo, who had their phones customized in similar fashion.

Real Madrid’s Number 7 won his second consecutive Ballon D’Or in January, beating Lionel Messi and German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to the award. Ronaldo won the first one back in 2008.

”Winning La Decima was one of the greatest moments of my career”

While receiving an award given by Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, Cristiano Ronaldo spoke about his biggest achievement with Los Blancos so far: winning the UEFA Champions League.

It will be in my memory forever. Winning that trophy in my country is, by far, one of the greatest moments of my career. I dedicate this award to my team-mates, since all trophies are the result of teamwork,” Ronaldo said.

The player was awarded by his home country’s newspaper as the Best Portuguese athlete in the past 30 years. Furthermore, he was named the Best Portuguese footballer of all time, surpassing legends like Eusebio and Luis Figo.

Cristiano Ronaldo confirms end of his longtime relationship with Irina Shayk

Portugal and Real Madrid soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed Tuesday he has broken up with his longtime girlfriend, Russian model Irina Shayk.

After dating for five years, my relationship with Irina Shayk has come to an end,” Ronaldo said in a written statement sent exclusively to The Associated Press. ”We believed it would be best for both of us to take this step now.”

Ronaldo said he was making the statement to end speculation about their relationship, and to end recent rumours about his private life. He did not specify the rumours, but media in Portugal have reported that Shayk fell out with members of Ronaldo‘s family, and that he was seeing another woman.

I wish Irina the greatest happiness,” Ronaldo said.

He gave no further details in the brief statement.

The couple, both 29, has had huge international success, and their relationship has featured in newspapers and magazines worldwide. They were not believed to be living together, as Ronaldo was based in the Spanish capital while Shayk travelled extensively.

Ronaldo recently picked up the Ballon d’Or after being voted the world’s best player, but Shayk did not accompany him to the ceremony in Zurich. Her absence triggered rumours that their relationship was over. The couple remained silent despite days of intense media speculation.

Ronaldo retained football’s highest individual honour after scoring 61 goals last year. His record tally of 17 in a Champions League season helped Madrid win an unprecedented 10th European Cup title.

Born in the Portuguese island of Madeira, Ronaldo played as a teenager for Sporting Lisbon before moving to Manchester United in 2003. He transferred to Real Madrid in 2009, building his reputation and his wealth through endorsements and sponsorships. He has millions of followers on social media.

Ronaldo has a 4-year-old son, called Cristiano Junior, but he has never disclosed the mother’s identity.

Shayk won international fame as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, and a lingerie model. She made her acting debut last year opposite Dwayne ”The Rock” Johnson in the film ”Hercules.”

Cristiano Ronaldo and Irina Shayk call it quits

The world’s most beautiful couple has called it quits. Russian model Irina Shayk and Real Madrid soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo have ended their five-year relationship, Shayk’s rep confirmed it.

We can confirm Irina Shayk has ended her relationship to Cristiano Ronaldo,” her rep told in an exclusive interview on friday.

Rumors of a split first broke this week after Shayk was not by Ronaldo’s side at the annual FIFA Ballon d’Or in Zurich on Monday. Instead, he appeared at the awards event with his mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, and young son, Cristiano Jr., whom he fathered with an unidentified woman.

Some believed the couple had split up after Shayk didn’t show up to Ronaldo’s mother’s 60th birthday party on New Year’s Eve.

But a rep for the top model told us, “She has been close with his family throughout the course of their relationship. Any negative rumors with regards to Irina and the Ronaldo family are completely false, and have not been a factor in the cause of the spilt. Irina has no further comment at the time.

The Russian beauty, who was on the cover of the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and Ronaldo had been dating since 2010, after meeting on the set of an Armani ad.

The ridiculously hot couple quickly became an item, documenting their travels around the world on social media, and posed for a hot cover of Vogue Spain’s June issue, with Ronaldo standing naked behind a clothed Shayk.

But the ex-lovebirds, both 29, noticeably spent New Year’s apart, and Shayk also posted photos of herself alone around her Jan. 6 birthday while Ronaldo was in Madrid.

Trouble might have been brewing over the summer when Ronaldo missed the July premiere of Shayk’s action movie “Hercules,” in which she starred opposite Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. A week later, Ronaldo was spotted partying in Vegas while Shayk was on Fire Island hanging with pals.

Cristiano Ronaldo wins FIFA Player of the Year for the 3rd time

Cristiano Ronaldo won the FIFA Ballon d’Or award for 2014 on Monday, earning the title of world’s best football player for a third time.

He easily beat four-time winner Lionel Messi and Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer in a vote of national team captains and coaches from FIFA’s 209 member countries, plus selected journalists. Cristiano Ronaldo received 37.66% of all votes ahead of Lionel Messi (15.76%) & Manuel Neuer (15.72%).

Ronaldo retained football’s highest individual honor after scoring 61 goals for Real Madrid and Portugal last year. His record tally of 17 in a Champions League season helped his club win an unprecedented 10th European Cup title — and overshadowed a relatively disappointing World Cup campaign.

Ronaldo was more composed for this widely expected victory than during his tearful speech one year ago when ending Messi’s four-year reign. He first won the award for 2008 as a Manchester United player.

On hearing his name read out by French great Thierry Henry, Ronaldo closed his eyes, dipped his head and smiled before walking to the stage.

It has been an unforgettable year,” Ronaldo said after taking a deep breath.

“I can see my mother, my family. I would like to thank all those who voted for me, my coach, my fellow player, the President of my club. He added

To win this trophy, a trophy of this kind, is something unique and all I can say is I want to continue working as I have so far, trying to go on to more titles – individual and as a team – for my mother, my father who is up there looking at there any my son.

“I want to get better as the days go by. I want to say to all the Portuguese that I never thought I could win this trophy on three different occasions. Of course it is something that is always with me, I want to become one of the greatest players of all time, and this requires a lot so I would like to thank you for all this evening.”

Germany midfielder, Nadine Kessler, claimed her first-ever FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year award. Germany coach, Joachim Löw, and compatriot Ralf Kellermann, coach of VfL Wolfsburg Ladies, were named as FIFA World Coaches of the Year for Men’s and Women’s Football, respectively. The winners were chosen by the coaches and captains of national teams as well as by international media representatives invited by FIFA and France Football.

International players’ union FIFPro also invited 24,000 professional players from around the world to vote for the FIFA FIFPro World XI, the best team of 2014, with the following result: Manuel Neuer (Germany) in goal; David Luiz (Brazil), Philipp Lahm (Germany), Sergio Ramos (Spain) and Thiago Silva (Brazil) in defence; Ángel Di María (Argentina), Andrés Iniesta (Spain) and Toni Kroos (Germany) in midfield; and Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal), Lionel Messi (Argentina) and Arjen Robben (Netherlands) in attack.

Cristiano Ronaldo levels Raul’s Champions League Goal record

Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo moved level with former Madrid striker Raul as he scored his 71st Champions League goal during Real Madrid’s record-equalling 15th consecutive win as they beat FC Basel 1-0 in Switzerland on Wednesday.

The Portuguese superstar converted a Karim Benzema cutback 10 minutes before half-time at the St Jakob-Park as the reigning European champions, who had already qualified for the last 16, secured first place in Group B with a fifth win in five games.

Ronaldo‘s goal allowed him to move level with Raul as the tournament’s second-top scorer of all time, three behind Lionel Messi, who broke the record with a hattrick for Barcelona against APOEL on Tuesday, Sport24 reported.

Ronaldo‘s goal secured their 15th consecutive victory in all competitions, a sequence that began with a 5-1 defeat of Basel at the Santiago Bernabeu in September.

Carlo Ancelotti‘s men have therefore equalled the record that was set by Miguel Munoz’s team in 1960-61 and then matched three seasons ago under Jose Mourinho.

Meanwhile, Basel, who had won their previous two home games, fought admirably with 17-year-old Cameroonian forward Breel Embolo proving a real handful, and despite the defeat they know that a draw with Liverpool at Anfield in a fortnight would take them through to the knockout stage, the report added.
