Preview, Real Madrid-Rosenborg

Cristiano Ronaldo will be in action with Real Madrid tonight as they host Rosenborg for the Trofeo Santiago Bernabeu. The 94 million euro signing is believed to have flopped during the pre-season according to reports made by a portion of the Spanish media.

Tonight will see Real Madrid and Ronaldo make their last warm up ahead of the competitive season that starts on August 29. The former Manchester United winger has netted three times for Los Blancos since his arrival in June.

In an interview this week, coach Manuel Pellegrini revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo will not be used on the flanks only. Under the ex-Villareal boss, Ronaldo will be allowed to move everywhere on the pitch just as he did during the 2007/2008 season with Manchester United.

A free role may give Cristiano Ronaldo the opportunity to dominate more on the field like during his time with the Red Devils when he scored 42 goals in a single season.

Cristiano Ronaldo fans are yet to see how well their favorite player will perform during the season. The 24-year-old Portuguese declared that he wants to go step by step before reaching his maximum level as he intends to be consistant throughout the season.

In our poll of the day, we ask whether you think Ronaldo will score a goal tonight against Rosenborg.
