Playing at Bernabeu, Mourinho’s squad grabbed 3 goals to nothing, thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema dan Gonzalo Higuain who score each goal on the match against Galatasaray. This result will give Real Madrid the advantage for the second leg, since Galatasaray need at least 4 goals to nothing to win the game.
Since the match started, both team played offensive, however, the host appeared more dominant. It didn’t take too long before Cristiano Ronaldo scored the first goal for the team, less than 10 minutes of the game. With the goal, Cristiano Ronaldo became the top scorer on the competition with 9 goals.
Losing 1 point, Galatasaray tried to fight back. They had the chance to equalize the score through Didier Drogba a few minutes later, but still failed. Karim Benzema later doubled the score for Madrid in minute 29th, with a perfect shot. 2-0 for Real Madrid.
