Cristiano Ronaldo insists that his rivalry with Lionel Messi is a “positive” one.
The duo have consistently been compared during their careers, with the debate about who is the better player continuing to rumble on.
But Real Madrid star Ronaldo, who won the 2013 Ballon d’Or earlier this year, insists that he does not give much thought to the rivalry.
“This is part of my life,” Ronaldo told World Soccer.
“It is normal that people compare us. I am used to it. It happened to me at Manchester United and I know how to manage it.
“We are football colleagues. Outside of football I have no relationship with Messi, but not with other players either. It is a positive rivalry.”
