Manchester United started the defense of their title of Sunday at home to Newcastle. With up to nine players out of the squad, young players like Campbell and the Da Silva brothers were given the chance to show themselves.
Man United had the better of the game, but when several key players are missing such as Ronaldo, finding the path to victory is a bit difficult.
In the opening minutes of the game, Man United had a clear appeal on penalty – which Ronaldo would have taken should he have been able to play. However, Newcastle benefited of the referee’s favour to escape from trouble.

Ronaldo shot breaks fans arm

Fred Harrison, a 68 year old Middlesborough fan had his arm broken during the 2-2 draw a couple of weeks ago. It has just surfaced in the news that Mr Harrison was using his arm to protect his face and glasses from an off-target Ronaldo shot. The ball flew over the crossbar and the powerful shot hit the 68 year old lower arm, which was later diagnosed as broken.
Mr Harrison, however has no hard feelings towards Ronaldo. “I definitely think he’s the best footballer in the world,” he said.

Ronaldo gets number 38!

Ronaldo scored his 28th premiership (38th overall) goal of the season today against Arsenal after a Gallas handball.
Arsenal took the lead with Adebayor’s goal on 48 minutes after he poked in Robin van Persie’s cross from close range. Ronaldo then made it 1-1 after 54 minutes from the penalty spot. He had to take the penalty twice, because of encroaching players, but he cooley slotted home against Lehmann the second time around.
Hargreaves curled in a great free-kick with 18 minutes left to win United the game.
Arsenal had some good moments, and Ferguson even admitted so himself, but united shone through and pushed towards the title.

Ronaldo wins player of the month - March

Ronaldo has won the premiership player of the month award for march. He played in all 5 games, scoring 5 goals and getting 3 assists. Manager Alex Furguson also won manager of the month after his team won all 5 games comfortably without conceding a goal.
Ronaldo has now won the award 4 times. However he has a long way to go to catch Sir Alex who has now received it 21 times!

Ronaldo hits 37!

Ronaldo scored his 37th goal of the season (27th in the league) this weekend against Middlesborough inside 10 minutes after he converted Michael Carrick’s cross. However it only earned them a draw as Middlesborough’s new sharp shooter Afonso Alves took advantage of united’s shaky defense and the game ended 2-2, with Utd leveling through rooney’s 74th minute strike.
but still, its another goal to add to Ronaldo’s tally, and here are those 37 beauties!…

Goal and 3 assists for Ronaldo

Ronaldo scored and set up the other 3 goals in Man Utds convincing win over Aston Villa this weekend. He slotted in from a Ryan Giggs corner with a cheeky backheel from outside the 6 yard box.
He later assisted in the goal by Carlos Tevez and the 2 from Rooney.

Ronaldo makes it 25 for the season

Ronaldo notched his 25th premiership goal of the season yesterday in the 3-0 win over Liverpool. That makes it 34 in total for the season. Wes Brown and Ronaldo’s Portuguese team mate nani also scored in a game which saw Javier Mascherano sent off just before half time for two yellow cards.
Ronaldo’s goal was a simple header from a nani corner, in which he overpowered his marker to head in.
He picked up a slight knock, so will miss the Portugal vs. Greece game in mid-week.

Ronaldo captains Utd and bags 2 goals

Ronaldo took his total goal tally to 33 for the season in wednesday nights game against Bolton. He has now surpassed George Best’s record for goals in a season by a winger.
The second of Ronaldo’s goals came via a trademark free-kick, which dipped and swerved wildly to leave goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi helpless.

Ronaldo shoots Utd to the top

Ronaldo`s 75th minute goal against Derby earned them a crucial win and pushed them to the top of the premiership aboved Arsenal.
Ronaldo was a threat throughout the game and Wayne Rooney`s cross was met with a fine Volley to clench the win.

Ronaldo adds another to his tally

Ronaldo scored in the 90th minute after breaking up a Reading attack and surging forward. Rooney had scored the opener 13 minutes earlier to the relief of manchester united after the game looked likely to heading to a 0-0 draw.
Utd were under par today and Reading decided to go at them. However they couldn’t hold it up into the second half and Utd pushed for the win.
Ronaldo now sits on 17 prem goals for the season.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first Manchester United hat-trick this weekend in a 6 goal second half thriller against managerless Newcastle.
He was of course very proud of his first hat-trick and surely his mum will be content after her comments earlier in the season.
He now has a total of 16 premiership goals this season, only 1 behind his last years total. Although he only has 2 assists this season so far, compared with a total of 16 last year. His overall record is 22 in all competitions so far this season, which is only 1 behind the total from last year!

Ronaldo scored twice today against Everton to keep Utd in tight competition for the title. The remain 1 point behind Arsenal after this week’s fixtures.
The final score was 2-1 and the game seemed to be heading for a draw until Pienaar made a terrible mistake for Everton late on, bringing down Giggs in the box. Ronaldo clamly dispatched the penalty, sending Howard the wrong way.
Ronaldo’s first goal was a moment of pure brilliance at 22 minutes. He collected Tevez’s cross-field pass first time, stepped inside Lee Carsley and drilled into the top corner left-footed with Tim Howard motionless.
However 5 minutes later, Everton’s inform Tim Cahill headed in his 7th goal in 13 games this season.
Utd had a host of shots on target as they tried to regain the lead, but it took until 88 mins for Ronaldo to seal it with the penalty.

Goal and assist for Ronaldo in 4-1 win

Utd won 4-1 against Derby at Old Trafford yesterday, with a brace from Tevez and goals from Giggs and Ronaldo. It was Giggs’ 100th goal for United. The win takes them to within 1 point of league leaders Arsenal.
Ronaldos goal came from a penalty when he was felled by Stephen Bywater. The decision has sparked controversy over Ronaldo’s greed for goals as Tevez was on a hat-trick. However Manchester United’s players insist there was no bad blood over Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to take the penalty.

Ronaldo double strike sinks Fulham

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a double and could have got his first hattirck against Fulham if it were not for Rob Styles bad decision. Ronaldo had to swiftly dive over fulham keeper Antti Niemi to prevent himself being flattened by the on-coming keeper. In the rules of the game the incident is conceived as a penalty, Instead of awarding United the decision, Styles booked Ronaldo for gamesmanship, a decision TV replays later suggested was incorrect.
“I try to do my job and I try to play honestly,” he said.
“I respect the referee’s decision but I do not have the same opinion because I thought it was a penalty.
“If you see the replay, the goalkeeper never touched the ball, so it is frustrating the referee gave me a yellow card.”
