Cristiano Ronaldo shows off his new CR7 Underwear range

Cristiano Ronaldo posted a picture on social media of his latest underwear range.

The Portuguese would have expected a far greater return from his 58 goals in all competitions than the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup secured earlier in the campaign, but despite scoring so many goals, Real Madrid failed to win any major trophy this season but it haven’t affected Ronaldo’s off the pitch bussiness.

Ronaldo is used to seeing people wearing Madrid and Portugal shirts with his name on – and the 30-year-old also launched a CR7 footwear range earlier this year.

But the best of the brand will forever be his collection of underwear – and Ronaldo was keen to get the opinion of his Instagram followers on which item he should wear from his luxury line.

The former Manchester United man was ramping up publicity for his new spring and summer range on Wednesday, posing the questioned: ‘Which pair of #CR7Underwear should I wear today? Help me choose!

Cristiano has been seen getting his knickers in a twist at times this season for the La Liga giants, as team-mates have failed to pass him the ball, but wearing the green stripes number – reminiscent of his Sporting Lisbon days – he will at least take satisfaction from another personal accolade.

Heading into the final round of league fixtures, Ronaldo is set to be crowned the Pichichi – La Liga’s top scorer – with his 45 goals currently four ahead of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.

Cristiano Ronaldo donates £5 million to help victims of Nepal earthquake

The Real Madrid star handed over the incredible sum to charity Save the Children, French sports magazine So Foot claimed.

Nearly 8,000 people were killed after the natural disaster struck, causing untold destruction as well as a lethal avalanche on Mount Everest.

Cristiano Ronaldo has proved again that he’s a kind human being and putting his massive array of riches to good use.

With a long history of being charitable for a good cause, the 30-year-old Portuguese superstar reportedly has donated £5 million to Save the Children, an organization working to aid Nepal in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake.

Last month real madrid star also called upon his legion of Facebook followers to donate to the charity. Ronaldo showed just last week his affinity for the organisation on his Facebook page:

Cristiano Ronaldo Beats Messi With Facebook Posts Worth $147,750

Cristiano Ronaldo snatched the last world soccer player of the year title from Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, and the Real Madrid forward is winning the competition to be the sport’s top endorser on Facebook Inc. (FB) as well.

A post by the Portugal national team player is worth an average of $143,750 of advertising for the brand he’s endorsing, twice that of four-time player of the year Messi, according to research by Cologne, Germany-based consultancy Repucom using fan engagement and online advertising rates. A post by Argentina’s Messi is worth an average of $62,500, Repucom said.

Soccer players are dedicating time to social media with a view to commanding bigger endorsement deals, Max Barnett, Repucom’s head of digital in the U.K. who has advised footballers on strategy, said by telephone.

“Ronaldo is the king in Facebook,” Barnett said.

About “five or six” people work on Ronaldo’s social media, according to Luis Correia, chief executive officer of Lisbon-based Polaris Sports Ltd., which manages his image rights. A spokesman for Messi’s affairs who spoke on the condition of anonymity said by phone from Barcelona said he also has a “small team” focused on his Internet presence.

Ronaldo has 102.5 million Facebook followers to Messi’s 75.7 million, and the value is also created because the Real Madrid forward gets more “likes” and comments, according to Barnett. Only pop singer Shakira has more followers than Ronaldo, Barnett said.

Ronaldo’s social media team seeks optimum times to make posts, such as before the so-called “El Clasico” match between Real Madrid and Barcelona, and is more sophisticated than many athletes whose social media is “managed by their mates” or deluged with advertising, Barnett said.

“If players are serious about monetizing their fan base they have to tread a narrow path” between behind-the-scenes photos and showing off sponsor logos, which turns off followers, Barnett said.

Ronaldo’s sponsors include Nike Inc., (NKE) airline Emirates and watchmaker Tag Heuer. He earns $22.5 million a year in endorsements compared to $21.5 million for Messi, according to Repucom, which based those findings on media reports. Correia, whose uncle Jorge Mendes is Ronaldo’s agent, said he is already tapping Ronaldo’s “digital footprint” when negotiating deals with sponsors.

“People like Cristiano because he has a strong personality,” Correia said. “His popularity goes beyond soccer.”

Lil Wayne to Launch Sports Agency with Cristiano Ronaldo as First Client

Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to become the first client of rapper Lil Wayne’s sports management company after reports claimed he is on the lookout for a representative to “handle his affairs”.

The Ballon d’Or winner didn’t enjoy the best of World Cup’s during the summer as his Portugal side were knocked out in the group stages, but he did have reason to celebrate come the end of the season after guiding Real Madrid to the tenth Champions League success in their history.

The World Cup saw football  sweep the United States, largely thanks to the impressive showing in Brazil by Team USA, and it now seems that Ronaldo is ready to tap into that interest in order to expand the global brand that is CR7.

According to celebrity news website, Ronaldo will link up with his friend Lil Wayne – real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. – after the New Orleans rapper started his own sports management company.

Lil Wayne is known to be a keen basketball fan, leading to his decision to start up the company that will reportedly “handle Ronaldo’s sports management affairs in the United States”.

It goes on to suggest that Lil Wayne will work with PolarisSports, who has affiliations with GestiFute and CAA and work with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes.

Ronaldo appeared to give the seal of approval on the deal, as he posted a picture on his Twitter account alongside Japanese Prime Minister and other politicians performing the Young Money/Cash Money sign, made famous by Lil Wayne and those on his record label.
