Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has warned critics to “leave me alone” in a viral video message released on Friday.
Cristiano Ronaldo had another successful season on the pitch for Los Blancos, winning his third Ballon d’Or in January, but he also came under fire for a controversial birthday party and endured a public break-up with long-term girlfriend Irina Shayk earlier in the year.
In the past week, the press published news about the footballer dancing on a yacht with a group of friends and urinating on a street in Saint Tropez and also cheating rumours with his ex girl friend Irina shayk.
Here is the Ronaldo’s Video Message:
“It’s been a tough year but you’ve [my fans] always been there, showing that you’re faithful,” he began.
“I never talk about my private life but I want to take this opportunity to say that in recent weeks the Press have tried to speak ill of me – I have a new girlfriend every day, I do this, I do that…
“Leave me alone! Let me do my job as I do every year and don’t try to damage my image because you’re not going to succeed.”

It’s been a tough season for Cristiano Ronaldo as Real Madrid managed to win only two trophies at the starting of the season but at least he can console himself by taking home the European Golden Shoe for a record fourth time.
Ronaldo’s hat-trick against Getafe in Real’s final La Liga game of the season meant he finished with 48 goals from 35 appearances. His nearest competitor, Lionel Messi managed 43 from 38 appearances for Barcelona. Ronaldo’s total was two short of the all-time record of 50 goals that won Messi the title in 2012.
Top Goal Scorers in Spanish League
Ronaldo also won the Golden Shoe in 2008 while he was at Manchester United, 2011 with Real Madrid and shared it with Luis Suárez last year.
Manchester City’s Sergio Agüero was a distant third with 26 Premier League goals, while Jonathan Soriano of Red Bull Salzburg came in fourth with 31. Barcelona’s Neymar shared fifth place with Internazionale’s Mauro Icardi, Antoine Griezmann of Atlético Madrid and Luca Toni of Verona.
The award is based on a points system that allows players in tougher leagues to win even if they score fewer goals than a player in a weaker league. Weightings are determined by the league’s ranking on the Uefa coefficients, with goals scored in the top five leagues multiplied by a factor of two and goals scored in the leagues ranked six to 21 by 1.5.
Sunderland’s Kevin Phillips remains the only Englishman to win the award for scoring 30 goals in 2000.
Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t too happy with Rafael Benítez‘s appointment as Real Madrid‘s coach. At least, that’s what Spanish site EcoDiario is reporting this Friday. Cristiano Ronaldo has been playing almost every match ever since he joined Real Madrid, no matter whether he was tired or not. Rafael Benítez has a strong tendency to rotate his players constantly, and that could affect Ronaldo‘s numbers considerably, so this report is worth considering.
Ronaldo is capable of being such a dominant force statistic-wise because of the number of matches he plays. However, at age 30, the Portuguese player should definitely think about rotating more often from now, and Benítez is the perfect coach on that matter. If Benítez can give Ronaldo some rest while keeping the player’s trust, Real Madrid’s star should be more ready than ever to play the decisive matches in March and April.
It should be noted that Ronaldo showed his support for Carlo Ancelotti after Real Madrid’s last game of the season, saying that he wanted to ”work with him” next year. Ronaldo was probably aware of Real’s interest in Benítez by that time and wanted to share his thoughts on that.
That sort of overt power move is, it seems, indicative of Ronaldo’s relationship with Real Madrid president Perez, described elsewhere in the Spanish press today as ”a marriage of convenience.”
At times over the past year, particularly around the time of the 30-year-old’s controversial birthday party, he reportedly felt that he didn’t receive enough support from the club.
This all ties into an annoyance that super-agent Jorge Mendes is supposed to have with Florentino after he chose to hire Benitez rather than Mendes’ first choice (and client, of course) Nuno – currently in charge at Valencia.
Were Ronaldo to leave the Bernabeu, Paris Saint-Germain would be the frontrunners for his signature.
PokerStars has added another world-class athlete to its stable of sponsored poker players and poker enthusiasts.
Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Team PokerStars as a brand ambassador and will promote the game and the brand in global marketing campaigns, Amaya Gaming Group said Wednesday. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Ronaldo has more Twitter followers than Kim Kardashian and is the most followed person on Facebook. Between the two social media sites, Ronaldo has nearly 140 million fans. The 30-year-old is considered one of the best players in the history of the sport.
Canada-based Amaya bought PokerStars last year for $4.9 billion and is betting on re-entry into the American market via licensing in New Jersey. Amaya is also looking to buy rival bwin.party.
Ronaldo said in a statement that he has been playing poker for “a few years.”
Amaya Chairman and CEO David Baazov said in a statement about the signing:
“Ronaldo is part of a new generation of global superstar athletes that work hard, play smart and encourage their fans to share in their lives. We’re proud that Ronaldo – and fellow elite player Neymar Jr—have chosen to make PokerStars a partner in their journey and to share their love of the game of poker with their legions of fans.”
PokerStars signed Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior just weeks ago.
Earlier this spring, footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic reportedly turned down a deal with PokerStars worth millions. The reason(s) apparently remain unknown.
Other athletes sponsored by PokerStars include Rafa Nadal, Ronaldo, Fatima Moreira de Melo and Marcus Hellner. The company sponsors more than 50 poker pros as well.

Cristiano Ronaldo posted a picture on social media of his latest underwear range.
The Portuguese would have expected a far greater return from his 58 goals in all competitions than the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup secured earlier in the campaign, but despite scoring so many goals, Real Madrid failed to win any major trophy this season but it haven’t affected Ronaldo’s off the pitch bussiness.
Ronaldo is used to seeing people wearing Madrid and Portugal shirts with his name on – and the 30-year-old also launched a CR7 footwear range earlier this year.
But the best of the brand will forever be his collection of underwear – and Ronaldo was keen to get the opinion of his Instagram followers on which item he should wear from his luxury line.
The former Manchester United man was ramping up publicity for his new spring and summer range on Wednesday, posing the questioned: ‘Which pair of #CR7Underwear should I wear today? Help me choose!‘
Cristiano has been seen getting his knickers in a twist at times this season for the La Liga giants, as team-mates have failed to pass him the ball, but wearing the green stripes number – reminiscent of his Sporting Lisbon days – he will at least take satisfaction from another personal accolade.
Heading into the final round of league fixtures, Ronaldo is set to be crowned the Pichichi – La Liga’s top scorer – with his 45 goals currently four ahead of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
Cristiano Ronaldo moved ahead of Real Madrid legend Alfredo Di Stefano in the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart on Sunday evening.
Ronaldo, 30, scored yet another hat trick in the 4-1 win at Espanyol which moved him onto 310 goals from his 299 games, and the three-time Ballon d’Or winner is now closing in on record goal-scorer Raul who left the club in 2010 with 323 goals from 741 games.
Real Madrid say that Di Stefano scored 308 goals in 396 games, though official statistics place him on 307 — the club attribute a goal scored in a Copa Del Rey game against Betis in 1962-63 to Di Stefano while other outlets give it to Ferenc Puskas. Carlos Santillana, who played between 1971-88, bagged 290 in 645 games while Puskas managed 242 in 262 games between 1958-66.
Ronaldo‘s treble at Espanyol was the 26th of his Madrid career, which saw move two clear of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi for the all-tie record of La Liga hat tricks. With this hattrick, Ronaldo is almost set to bag another European Golden shoe, 3rd with Madrid and 4th overall.
Here is the Golden Shoe Standings with a game to go in Spanish League.
On Wednesday against Juventus, Ronaldo equalled Messi once more in the battle to become the top scorer in Champions League history. The pair have been outscoring each other all season but the Portugal international has now tied Messi on 77.
Former Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo is one goal away from beating Real Madrid legend Alfredo di Stefano’s all-time scoring record of 307 goals.
The Portuguese winger moved to Madrid in the summer of 2009, trading the Red Devils for the Santiago Bernabeu for a then world record transfer fee.
During his time in the Spanish capital, Ronaldo has scored for fun and broken numerous records in the process, including becoming the Champions League’s all-time top scorer alongside Lionel Messi.
His goal scoring record has defied belief at times, but remarkably he has yet to topple Madrid’s all-time scoring list led by Raul with a whopping 323 goals in 741 appearances.
However, Ronaldo isn’t too far behind and one more goal will see him move ahead of currently tied second-placed Alfredo di Stefano, who managed 307 strikes in 396 appearances.
The opponent standing in his way this weekend is Barcelona’s city rivals Espanyol, a talented side but one which hasn’t tasted victory against Los Blancos in their last 16 encounters.
While the season might be over for Carlo Ancelotti’s side in terms of trophies, for Ronaldo there is still personal glory to be had and a target to hit which will at least keep him motivated and at the top of his game.
With two La Liga games remaining, the 30-year-old leads Argentine superstar Messi with 42 goals to 40 in the race to land the prestigious Pichichi trophy awarded to the Spanish top-flight’s top marksman.
