Zinedine Zidane: Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo Is Not A Violent Player

Everyone is sharing their opinion about Cristiano Ronaldo’s elbow incident which saw him pick up a straight red card.

Now French legend and former Real Madrid player, Zinedine Zidane, avowed his own judgment.

He said about the tackle:

“I saw the play on telly and yes, it’s ugly.”

He continued by clearing Cristiano Ronaldo’s image which has been even more tarnished through this elbow incident:

“He didn’t deliberately attack him [Mtiliga]. Cristiano isn’t a violent player, surely not.

“What happened really hurts; they are actions that I don’t like to see. But you can’t say that he is a violent player.

“He scored two good goals and I’m sure he’s not happy by his dismissal.”

In the final of the 2006 World Cup in Germany, Zinedine Zidane head butted Italy’s Marco Materazzi and was therefore given his marching orders.

The French legend ended his international career with a red card but he received the support of millions around the world who understood that Zidane reacted by provocation.

In Cristiano Ronaldo’s case, the majority of the public is against the Portugal and Real Madrid superstar.

Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos On Cristiano Ronaldo’s Red Card

S. Ramos, CR9Until the final decision is taken, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo will be facing a two-match ban after breaking the nose of Malaga defender Mtiliga.

The majority of football’s public have criticized Ronaldo for violent conduct but some also have a different judgment as they believe that there was no intent from the player when he elbowed his opponent.

Now, as Real Madrid are pursuing their appeal, Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos has come in defense of Los Blancos’ star player, Cristiano Ronaldo.

”Cristiano had no intention of hurting the player. We [Real Madrid] believe that the punishment is unjust.

Ramos then underlined the effect that Ronaldo’s absence could have on the squad:

“There are two matches that he would have to seat out. He will be a big loss for Real Madrid. Cristiano has got the support of the entire squad and everyone thinks the same thing: he was just trying to get past the player.”

When asked to compare Cristiano Ronaldo’s elbow incident with Lionel Messi’s gesture in Barcelona’s 4-0 victory against Sevilla two weeks ago, Sergio Ramos said:

“Messi was lucky not to hit the defender [Valiente] in the face but Cristiano had the bad luck of breaking the nose of the defender [Mtiliga].”

Real Madrid will have to wait a bit more time before knowing whether they have won the case which they filed to the Appeals Committee.

According to Cristiano Ronaldo himself, the next story could be positive.

“I’m confident in the case that the club will present on my behalf and that the Committee will reduce the punishment.”

Real Madrid Pursue Red Card Appeal, Cristiano Ronaldo Could Be Back!

Ronaldo vs MalagaReal Madrid are pursuing their appeal to have Cristiano Ronaldo back from suspension and thus available for this weekend’s crucial fixture away to Deportivo La Coruna.

Los Blancos have received a boost in their petition as AS released a relevant video that could help Real Madrid win the case.

AS’ video sees Lionel Messi reacting in a similar way in Barcelona’s 4-0 victory against Sevilla in La Liga. Messi vs Valiente

Actually, defender Valiente attempts to grab Messi’s arm, waist, and shirt but the Argentine forward resists and pushes him off with his right arm’s elbow.

He hits Valiente’s chest but as his arms are not long enough, his elbow only points towards the defenders’ face.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo is taller than Lionel Messi whereas Mtiliga is quite a small man (1.71cm).

Therefore, it is obvious that the Portuguese’s elbow will rather hit Mtiliga right in the face and eventually create much more risks.

Ronaldo vs MtiligaLionel Messi went unpunished and Sevilla’s Valiente got booked for his defending.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo received a red card which spoiled his wonderful night.

Apparently, Real Madrid are trying to justify that Cristiano Ronaldo’s gesture wasn’t wrong but that Malaga’s defender was just unfortunate to be hit so badly.

Now CR9 could be playing for Los Blancos if Real Madrid win their appeal.

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo Red Card Incident – People’s Thoughts

Ronaldo red cardedReal Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo sustained his first straight red card in the Spanish La Liga last week after his elbow hit the face of Malaga’s Mtiliga.

The player was left injured with blood while Cristiano Ronaldo was astonished by the referee’s decision.

When explaining his point, the Portuguese superstar insisted that there was no intent in his action and he also gave a reason to the extent of the incident, saying:

”We may see blood but people who know and understand football will see that this didn’t deserve a red card.

”It was the result of bad luck because the guy measures only 1 meter 70 centimeters. If he was taller it would have hit him in the chest.”

Besides, Cristiano Ronaldo also revealed that Mtiliga wasn’t angry at the Real Madrid star as he felt that what happened was an accident rather than a malicious tackle.

Mtiliga was actually pulling Ronaldo’s shirt before receiving an elbow from the player right in the face.

Now many people expressed their opinion concerning Cristiano Ronaldo’s behavior and his sending off. Here are a few relevant thoughts:

Marca columnist, Roberto Palomar:

“A player who gets sent off against Almeria and Malaga whereas the match is already won is a fool.”

Malaga’s on-loan Manchester City striker, Felipe Caicedo:

”Of course it deserved a red card. Patrick’s nose is broken.”

Real Madrid director, Jorge Valdano:

”A referee must be aware not to spoil the spectacle.”Mtiliga and Ronaldo

”Cristiano wants to play, always. When he his tackled him from behind, he tries to break free, unlike others who dive and claim a foul.

”Rather than Ronaldo adapting to La Liga, referees should adapt to his style.”

Real Madrid former player, Emilio Butragueno:

” If you watching the move, you can see that he clearly doesn’t want to hurt the opponent.”

”I was a forward and when you are in a challenge, you want to free yourself. Ronaldo is a great professional.”

Cristiano Ronaldo will miss Real Madrid’s tricky trip away to Deportivo La Coruna. He might miss even more games for Los Blancos, depending on the length of the ban.

Real Madrid 2-0 Malaga: Cristiano Ronaldo Doubles, Sees Red.

Ronaldo red cardedIt could have been a glorious night for Cristiano Ronaldo as his brace helped Real Madrid defeat Malaga 2-0. However, the red card which he sustained twenty minutes from time tarnished his achievement.

Real Madrid went into Sunday’s La Liga match eight points behind the leaders Barcelona.

This meant that they had no option but to beat Malaga at the Santiago Bernabeu in order not to wave an early goodbye in the title race.

Los Blancos held their 100% record at home ahead of the clash and they were expected to deal with Malaga’s resilience. Actually, Sunday’s visitors were on a run of nine matches undefeated; one of those included a 2-2 draw away to Sevilla.

Fortunately enough for Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo saved them from troubles by scoring two goals within three minutes.

The first one saw him finishing up Kaka’s low cross in the penalty box after 36 minutes, but the second one was more brilliant. Ronaldo received a pass from veteran midfielder Guti and he made no mistake in firing the ball in the top corner of the net.

Malaga’s keeper had no option but to let the ball fly above him as Cristiano Ronaldo completed his perfect brace.

So Real Madrid headed into the dressing rooms 2-0 up and ended the night with the same score line as well. But before the referee had blown the final whistle, Cristiano Ronaldo was no more on the pitch.

The Portuguese superstar picked up a red card at the 70th minute after elbowing Malaga’s Mtiliga. The victim was left with blood but Cristiano Ronaldo insisted that he had no intentions to hurt him.

He explained after the incident:

”I’m very disappointed about what happened because I’m not a bad person.

”Anyone who plays football will know that my intention was not to hurt him [Mtiliga], but to defend myself from his grab.

”I did not want to hurt him. ”

So Cristiano Ronaldo fans will have to wait and see the extent of CR9’s ban after seeing a straight card. As for Real Madrid, supporters will hope that Ronaldo’s absence doesn’t affect them too much.

£ 80 Million for Cristiano Ronaldo? We’re all fools! – Lorenzo Sanz.

Lorenzo Sanz, Perez, and CR9.Is there any player on earth worth £ 80 million?

For Real Madrid, the answer is ‘YES’ as they splashed this amount of money last summer to secure the signature of Cristiano Ronaldo.

But for one of Real Madrid’s former president, Lorenzo Sanz, the answer is simply ‘NO’.

“Either we are all fools, or whoever paid that for Cristiano is an idiot!” Lorenzo Sanz stated referring to Los Blancos’ current president Florentino Perez.

Lorenzo Sanz, who led Real Madrid to Champions League glory in 1998 and 2000, certainly believes that a sum of £ 80 million doesn’t need to be splashed on one single player in quest of success.

He even declared that his Real Madrid side ‘was equal or better than this one’, which includes the likes of other stars such as Kaka, Benzema, and Xabi Alonso.

“My team was better, player for player. I wouldn’t change it for the current [Real Madrid squad] which is unfortunately worse than Barcelona.”

The former Real Madrid president continued:

“We’re talking about the best players in the world, the best stadium in the world, this and that, because of everything that is expected from Real Madrid.

“This (those expectations), for Cristiano Ronaldo, should be hard to take.”

Lorenzo Sanz is somehow pushing Cristiano Ronaldo to the wall. How will the Portuguese superstar respond to the former Real Madrid club president’s claims?
