Ronaldo to break Portugal’s goal drought curse?

A goal drought has hit the Portuguese national team since last year. Three consecutive goalless draws in their World Cup campaign have put them in an embarrassing situation to qualify for the finals…

Coincidently, these results have occurred since Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to the squad after curing from his ankle operation last summer.

The 2006 World Cup semi-finalists seemed to be on a good track with crushing victories against the Faroe Islands and Malta after the Euros.

Portugal in a tougher position after drawing again

A goalless draw at home to Sweden on Saturday wasn’t the expected result from a Portuguese fan point of view.

With only 6 points from a possible 15 and four points off the pace of leaders Denmark and Hungary, it looks like Portugal will not make it to the finals in South Africa.

Even the presence of the World’s Best Player Cristiano Ronaldo couldn’t power the Seleccao to clinch all three points. (See his post-match interview here): Fortsätt läsa Portugal in a tougher position after drawing again

I, CRF’s Editor in Chief, Angela Asante aka J’Lah, went to find out everyone’s thoughts and opinion concerning the contest. At my delight, I realized that the level of enthusiasm was high enough to give this first ever CRF contest its deserved significance. Fortsätt läsa J’Lah meets the top 4…

Larsson and Edman up against Ronaldo

Portugal host Sweden in Porto tomorrow in a crucial encounter that might determine Cristiano Ronaldo’s World Cup fate.
The Portuguese have no right to make any mistake. A crushing victory is very much needed if Portugal want to boost their chances of qualifying and respond to the fans’ embarrassment.

Despite Ibrahimovic’s absence from the squad through suspension, it looks like things will still be tough for the Seleccao. (See video of Sweden v Portugal, first leg) Fortsätt läsa Larsson and Edman up against Ronaldo

Ronaldo shop in Madrid? What’s the point!

Hot news has just been released, revealing Cristiano Ronaldo’s plan to widen his CR7 shop network in Madrid!
The 24-year-old already had branches opened in his native Madeira and Porto, which is an obvious choice for a native Portuguese man.

Now, as the Spanish tabloid Marca suggested, Ronaldo’s decision to open a branch of his shop in Madrid could explain something about the Real-United transfer saga. Especially because reports explain that the shop will be named ‘CR9’ and not ‘CR7’… (See video) Fortsätt läsa Ronaldo shop in Madrid? What’s the point!

CRF’s Contest is almost over; who will be the top 2 winners?

Exactly ten days before the winners of the CRF Best Fan of the Year Contest is announced, J’Lah takes an analytical look at the poll.

It’s strange to see how many people vote “Someone Else” without voicing who this “someone else” is… Anyway, this makes our current favorite Adrian in a better position to win the award. Mathematically, Adi is on the track to become the run-away champion BUT, it’s not over yet for the rest of the contenders. Fortsätt läsa CRF’s Contest is almost over; who will be the top 2 winners?

Are the good days of Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo already over?

The worst that could happen to the Red Devils after securing the Carling Cup and an UEFA quarterfinal place this month is indeed happening in the most frustrating manner.
With seven goals conceded in their last three Premiership games and two losses against Liverpool and London’s Fulham, the World Champions look more beatable than ever this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who seemed to have given his all last week against the Merseyside Reds, was the home fans’ clown on Saturday afternoon at Craven Cottage.

Blog: Angela’s greatest relief in her world of football

If I had to choose my best moment last year as a Manchester United and Ronaldo supporter, I honestly wouldn’t know what to pick up. But if I have to say what my greatest relief was, I wouldn’t be afraid to reveal it (even though there could be Chelsea fans around me =D):

Witnessing Cristiano Ronaldo’s header in the Champions League final gave me a lot of relief because I felt the trophy was just inches away from the Reds’ fingertips. But after Lampard hit the equalizer, Chelsea managed to send the game into extra-time and penalties.

Cristiano Ronaldo had missed a penalty against Barcelona in the semi-finals and he was out to correct himself and score his second goal of the night.
